VOOPOO PnP Coil Compatibility Chart: PnP, PnP X, TPP, ITO and Argus

A VOOPOO device doesn’t take a coil directly. The coil sits in a pod, cartridge or tank, and that part decides which coils fit. So the question to answer first is which pod or tank your device uses. Grouping VOOPOO’s parts by the coils its pages list for them, we count five systems:

1. PnP: the original press-fit coils (PnP-VM, PnP-TW, PnP-TM, PnP-TR, PnP-R and PnP-RBA). They go in the Drag S and Drag X pods, the PnP-X pod, the PnP Pod II, the Argus Pro’s PnP Pod, the Vinci pods and the UForce-L tank.
2. PnP X: a newer, separate coil family (0.15Ω to 1.0Ω) for the PnP X cartridges, the PnP X pod tanks and the UForce-X tanks.
3. TPP: TPP-DM1 to DM4 coils for the TPP Pod Tank, the TPP X Pod and the MAAT Tank New.
4. ITO: ITO-M0 to M3 coils for the Drag Q’s ITO-X Pod, the Doric ITO pods and VOOPOO’s Argus empty cartridge.
5. Argus cartridges: pods with a built-in coil (Top Fill, Top Fill V2, Snap and Multi-Ohm) that VOOPOO says fit the whole Argus Pod Family.

Watch the names. The PnP-X pod (with a hyphen) in the Drag S and Drag X PnP-X Kits takes original PnP coils. The PnP X platform that arrived with the Drag S2 and X2 is a different coil. We explain the difference below.

One more thing before the chart: VOOPOO mostly lists what each pod or tank takes. It only rules a pairing out in two places we found: PnP X versus PnP, and the Top Fill 0.4Ω cartridge on the older Argus devices. Where a pairing isn’t listed, we don’t recommend it.

Each row shows what VOOPOO lists for that device on its own product page, or on the PnP X platform and Argus cartridge pages. Device names link to the kit on Black Note where we carry it. “In the box” is the standard kit as VOOPOO lists it, with the US kit noted where it differs.

Where to buy each family: PnP coils, PnP pods (4.5mL), PnP Pod II, UForce-L tank, PnP X coils, UForce-X tank, TPP coils, TPP X pods, ITO coils, ITO-X pod, Argus Top Fill V2 pods and Argus Snap pods.

Not in the chart: the Drag 3 TPP X edition and the standalone TPP Pod Tank, TPP-X Pod Tank and PnP Pod Tank, because VOOPOO’s pages for them are no longer online. The Drag 3 row follows VOOPOO’s standard Drag 3 page.

PnP and PnP X coils are not interchangeable. VOOPOO’s Drag S2 and Drag X2 pages both say the PnP X series “is not compatible with products of the PnP platform,” so a PnP X coil doesn’t go in a Drag S pod, PnP Pod II or UForce-L tank. Going the other way, VOOPOO lists only PnP X coils for its PnP X cartridges and UForce-X tanks, never original PnP coils. VOOPOO’s PnP X page also says every PnP X coil is “designed with directional insertion.”

VOOPOO lists seven PnP X coils, all sold in our PnP X coils:

Which PnP X coils go in which pod or tank:

• DTL cartridges and tanks (PnP X Cartridge DTL, Vinci PnP X Cartridge DTL, PnP X Pod Tank DTL and the UForce-X tank): VOOPOO says they take all PnP X coils and marks the 0.15Ω, 0.2Ω and 0.3Ω as “Best for” them.
• MTL cartridges and tanks: VOOPOO marks the 0.3Ω to 1.0Ω coils as “Best for” them, though the spec sheet for the PnP X Cartridge MTL names only the 0.3Ω and 0.6Ω. See the gaps section below.
• Argus PnP X Cartridge (the empty cartridge for the Argus E40): VOOPOO shows the 0.3Ω to 1.0Ω coils for it.
• UForce-X Nano and UForce-X Tank II: “compatible with all PnP X coils.”

The 510 tanks work on box mods outside the PnP X family. VOOPOO says its 510 interface “allows the UFORCE-X TANK to be used on any device with a 510 interface,” and its PnP X page lists the Drag 4, Drag M100S and Argus GT II for the PnP X pod tanks and UForce-X. Those kits ship with the UForce-L, a PnP tank, so PnP X coils need the UForce-X or a PnP X pod tank on those mods. Our Drag 5 review covers the UForce-X in daily use.

The original PnP coils fit a long list of pods and one 510 tank. VOOPOO says each of these takes “all PnP coils including RBA”: the PnP-X pod in the Drag S and Drag X PnP-X Kits, the PnP Pod II in the Drag H80S and Drag E60, the Drag Max, the Argus GT and the UForce-L tank. The Vinci, Vinci R, Vinci X, Vinci 2, Vinci X 2 and Vinci 3 pages say “all PnP coils” too. For the Drag S and Drag X, we sell the 4.5mL pods as PnP pods.

We stock nine of these (PnP-VM1, VM3, VM4, VM5, VM6, TW15, TW20, TW30 and TR1) in VOOPOO PnP coils.

Match the coil to the device’s power. “All PnP coils” means the coil fits physically. Pick a coil whose power range sits inside your device’s output. VOOPOO rates the Drag H40 at 5W to 40W and 0.3Ω to 3Ω, so the 0.15Ω, 60W to 80W PnP-VM6 sits outside both ranges.On the small Argus Air (5W to 25W), VOOPOO suggests coils of 0.6Ω and above.

TPP is VOOPOO’s third coil family. VOOPOO lists four TPP coils, all sold in our TPP coils:

• TPP-DM1: 0.15Ω, 60W to 80W
• TPP-DM2: 0.2Ω, 40W to 60W
• TPP-DM3: 0.15Ω, 80W to 100W
• TPP-DM4: 0.3Ω, 32W to 40W

Where TPP coils go:

• Drag 3: ships with a 5.5mL TPP Pod Tank with a 510 connector, which VOOPOO says is “Compatible with All TPP Coils.” The kit includes the TPP-DM1 and DM2.
• Drag S Pro and Drag X Pro: ship with the 5.5mL TPP X Pod. VOOPOO says both devices are “compatible with all TPP/PnP coils,” with the note “PnP Pod is required to use PnP coils.” So TPP coils go in the TPP X Pod, and PnP coils need a separate PnP pod. Our TPP X pods are the replacement pod.
• Drag X Plus and Drag X Plus Pro: use the TPP pod tank (510) and the TPP Pod Tank 2.
• Argus GT II, Argus MT and Argus XT: their pages say “compatible with all TPP coils” and list the MAAT Tank New, but the package lists show the UForce-L tank with PnP-TW coils. Check which tank came with yours.

VOOPOO doesn’t say TPP coils fit any PnP pod or tank, or the other way round. Read more in our Drag 3 review and Drag S Pro review.

ITO is VOOPOO’s pod coil family for RDL to tight MTL vaping. VOOPOO’s Drag Q page says it “is compatible with all ITO coils” and lists four, all sold in our ITO coils:

• ITO-M0: 0.5Ω, 18W to 25W, RDL
• ITO-M1: 0.7Ω, 14W to 18W, loose MTL
• ITO-M2: 1.0Ω, 10W to 14W, MTL
• ITO-M3: 1.2Ω, 8W to 12W, tight MTL

Which ITO pod fits which device:

• Drag Q: ships with the 3.5mL ITO-X pod and the ITO-M0 and M3 coils.
• Doric 20, Doric 20 SE, Doric Q and Doric E: VOOPOO says “The provided VOOPOO ITO Pod 3 mL is fully compatible with DORIC E, DORIC 20, DORIC 20 SE, DORIC Q’s device,” and its interchangeable pod picker pairs the ITO Pod 3mL, ITO Cartridge, ITO Pod and ITO-X Pod with all four.
• Argus empty cartridge: VOOPOO’s Argus G, G2 and Argus Pod pages show an “Empty Cartridge” that takes the ITO-M0 to M3 coils.

VOOPOO doesn’t list the Doric ITO Pod or ITO Cartridge for the Drag Q, so we only recommend the ITO-X pod there. Our Drag Q review covers the device.

Yes, Argus pods are shared across the Argus Pod Family. VOOPOO’s cartridge page says “ARGUS cartridges are compatible with devices of the ARGUS Pod Family” and names 21 devices: the Argus Z3, G4, G4 mini, Rise, P3, Matrix, Klyc, G3, G3 mini, G2, G2 mini +, G2 mini, G, P2, P1s, P1, A, Z2, Z, Argus Pod and Argus Pod SE.

The exception: the Argus G, P1, P1s and Argus Pod pages each say “ARGUS Top Fill Cartridge 0.4 Ω is not for this product. It is only for ARGUS Pod Family devices with 30 W output.” Those four run at 20W or 25W per VOOPOO, so pick from the 0.7Ω, 1.0Ω and 1.2Ω pods that the same charts list.

The Multi-Ohm Cartridge pairs with “21+ ARGUS Family Pod devices,” per VOOPOO. You flip the pod over to switch between 0.7Ω and 1.0Ω, and VOOPOO says “0.4Ω only supports switching for G4 and some subsequent products.”

We built this chart from VOOPOO’s own pages only, and some of them disagree or leave gaps. Here’s where, and what we did about it:

• An outdated line on the Drag S2 and Drag X2 pages. They say PnP X “at present … is only compatible with DRAG S2 and DRAG X2,” but VOOPOO’s PnP X platform page lists 13 devices. We followed the device list.
• PnP X coil labels. VOOPOO’s PnP X page calls the 0.3Ω coil “DTL & RDL” in its coil table and “RDL & MTL” in its usage notes, and the UForce-X Nano page calls it RDL. The Vinci E120 page also marks the 0.45Ω as “Best for” the Vinci DTL cartridge, which the PnP X page doesn’t. Our table follows the PnP X page’s coil table.
• PnP X MTL cartridge coils. The PnP X Cartridge MTL spec names only the 0.3Ω and 0.6Ω, but VOOPOO ships MTL cartridges with a 0.8Ω coil in the Drag S3, Drag H40 Pro and Doric 60 Pro, marks 0.3Ω to 1.0Ω as “Best for” it, and says “All VINCI PnP X Cartridges are fully compatible with PnP X coils.” We show what ships in each kit.
• Argus GT II, MT and XT tanks. Their pages list the UForce-L (PnP) in the box and the MAAT Tank New (TPP) in the specs. We list both.
• Snap pods on the Argus G and Argus Pod. VOOPOO’s family page includes both, but the Argus G and Argus Pod pages’ own lists show only the older Top Fill and Pod cartridges.
• Mixed PnP coil lists. Each PnP coil’s “Applicable Products” list changes from page to page, while the pods and tanks say “all PnP coils.” We followed the pod and tank statements and flagged power limits.
• TPP and PnP crossover, and the Drag 3’s “three platforms.” VOOPOO doesn’t say TPP coils fit PnP pods, or how PnP coils fit the Drag 3.
• Offline pages. VOOPOO’s TPP coil, TPP tank and MAAT Tank New pages, the Drag 3 TPP X page and the PnP Pod Tank page no longer load.
• UForce-X Nano capacity is 4.5mL on three VOOPOO pages and 3.5mL on the Drag 5 page.
• Vinci E cartridges. The Vinci E120 page lists them from 0.3Ω to 1.0Ω for the Vinci E120 and Argus E40, but marks them “coming soon.”

If you’re not sure a coil fits, use one VOOPOO lists for your pod or tank in the chart. If a coil doesn’t seat flush, don’t force it.

Resistance tells you how a coil draws. As a general rule (our guidance, not VOOPOO’s), MTL coils and pods of 1.0Ω and up, such as the PnP X 1.0Ω, PnP-TR1, ITO-M2, ITO-M3 and the Argus 1.0Ω and 1.2Ω pods, run at low power with a tight draw that suits Black Note salt nicotine and Black Note 50/50 tobacco e-liquids. Lower-resistance coils and pods of about 0.8Ω and below, and every sub-ohm tank coil (PnP-VM, PnP-TW, TPP-DM and the low-ohm PnP X coils in the UForce tanks), pair with thicker 70VG/30PG e-liquid.
