XROS Pod Compatibility Chart: Which Pods Fit Your XROS

Every Vaporesso XROS pod from 0.6Ω to 1.2Ω fits every XROS device, from the original 2020 XROS to the XROS 6. The pod to check is the 0.4Ω: Vaporesso lists it for the XROS Pro, the XROS Pro 2 and every XROS 4, 5 and 6 model, does not list it for older devices, and says the XROS MINI Retro takes most XROS pods but not the 0.4Ω. The chart below covers all 19 XROS devices on Vaporesso’s site, checked against Vaporesso’s product pages, pod page and manuals.

At a glance
Fits every XROS 0.6Ω, 0.8Ω, 1.0Ω and 1.2Ω XROS pods fit all 19 XROS devices, old and new.
Check the 0.4Ω Listed for the XROS Pro, Pro 2 and the XROS 4, 5 and 6 models. Not listed for earlier devices. The XROS MINI Retro excludes it.
Fit never changes COREX 2.0 or COREX 3.0, 2mL or 3mL: same magnetic connector, same fit.
Choose by draw Lower resistance gives a warmer, looser draw. The 1.0Ω and 1.2Ω pods give the tightest draw and suit nicotine salts.

How XROS pod compatibility works

Every XROS device uses the same magnetic pod connector, and Vaporesso has used it since the first XROS in 2020. Most current device pages say it in plain words: the device “is compatible with the entire XROS pod series.”

Three things vary between XROS pods, and only one of them can affect fit:

  • Resistance (0.4Ω, 0.6Ω, 0.8Ω, 1.0Ω or 1.2Ω). This is the one to check. The 0.4Ω pod is listed only for newer devices. Vaporesso also makes an older 0.7Ω pod; several manuals list it, but its pod page gives it no compatibility line, so it is left out of the chart.
  • Coil generation (COREX 2.0 or COREX 3.0). Same connector, same fit.
  • Capacity (2mL or 3mL). Same connector, same fit.

So the question to answer is simple: which resistance does your device take, and which draw do you want? Find your device in the chart, then pick a resistance with the guide further down. When you know what you need, shop Vaporesso XROS pods in 4-packs.

The XROS pod compatibility chart

Devices are grouped by generation, roughly newest first, following Vaporesso’s own XROS list. Yes means Vaporesso lists that pod as compatible, either on the device’s product page or on its XROS Pods page, which lists the 0.6Ω to 1.2Ω pods as compatible with the entire XROS series. Not listed means Vaporesso does not list the 0.4Ω pod for that device, so we do not recommend it there. The last column shows how the device fires and how much control you get with each pod.

Vaporesso XROS pod compatibility by device
XROS device 0.6Ω to 1.2Ω pods 0.4Ω pod How it fires and power control
XROS 6 Yes Yes Button or draw. 0.5W power steps with the 0.4Ω pod; Power, Normal or Eco with other pods

Where the 0.4Ω XROS pod fits, and where it doesn't

The 0.4Ω pod is the loosest pod in the range. Vaporesso describes it as a restricted direct to lung (RDL) pod and lists 25W as its best wattage, more than any other XROS pod.

Listed as compatible: the XROS Pro, which Vaporesso calls the first XROS to feature a 0.4Ω pod, plus the XROS 4, XROS 4 Mini, XROS 4 Nano, XROS Pro 2, XROS 5, XROS 5 Mini, XROS 5 Nano, XROS 6 and XROS 6 Mini.

Excluded: the XROS MINI Retro. Vaporesso says it works with most XROS pods, “except 0.4Ω pods.”

Not listed: the original XROS, XROS 2, XROS Mini, XROS Nano, XROS Cube, XROS 3, XROS 3 Mini and XROS 3 Nano. None of their product pages or manuals mention the 0.4Ω pod, and the Cube’s page names 0.6Ω, 0.8Ω, 1.0Ω and 1.2Ω only. On these devices, the 0.6Ω pod gives the loosest draw Vaporesso lists.

Which devices let you set power with the 0.4Ω pod?

Fitting the pod and controlling it are two different things. With the 0.4Ω pod fitted, the XROS Pro, XROS Pro 2, XROS 4 Nano, XROS 5 and XROS 6 let you set power in 0.5W steps, and the XROS 5 Nano adjusts power from its touchscreen. With any other pod, those devices switch to preset modes instead. The draw-only Mini models list the 0.4Ω pod, but their manuals describe no power setting for it. The XROS 6 Mini’s product page does mention power adjustment with the 0.4Ω pod, while its manual only describes switching between Eco and Power with two gentle puffs.

You may see the XROS Pro 2 described on one Vaporesso store page as having an exclusive 0.4Ω pod. The Pro 2’s own product page kit list and official flyer name the standard XROS Series 0.4Ω mesh pod, the same pod the other 0.4Ω-capable devices use.

Which XROS pod resistance should you choose?

Since nearly every pod fits, the real decision is the draw you want. Lower resistance means a warmer, looser draw and more vapor. Higher resistance means a tighter, cooler draw and gentler vapor. The recommended power below is Vaporesso’s own best-wattage figure for each pod.

Vaporesso XROS pods by resistance
Pod Capacity Vaporesso’s best wattage Draw Pairs well with
0.4Ω 3mL or 2mL 25W Restricted direct to lung, loosest Freebase e-liquid
0.6Ω 3mL or 2mL 21W Restricted direct to lung, warm and dense 60/40 e-liquid
0.8Ω 3mL or 2mL 16W Mouth to lung, balanced 50/50 e-liquid and nicotine salts
1.0Ω 2mL 12W Tight mouth to lung Nicotine salts and 50/50 e-liquid
1.2Ω 2mL 10W Tightest mouth to lung Nicotine salts and 50/50 e-liquid

A simple way to choose:

  • Coming from cigarettes and want a familiar, tight draw: start with the 1.0Ω or 1.2Ω pod and close the airflow down.
  • Want a balanced everyday pod: the 0.8Ω suits 50/50 e-liquid and salts alike.
  • Want a warmer, fuller draw: the 0.6Ω, with a 60/40 e-liquid.
  • Want the loosest draw: the 0.4Ω, but only on a device from the chart that lists it.

Vaporesso’s own store guide gives the same rule of thumb: 50/50 e-liquid in the 0.8Ω and higher pods, and thicker 60/40 e-liquid in the 0.6Ω.

COREX 2.0 vs COREX 3.0 XROS pods

COREX is the name of the mesh coil built into current XROS pods. COREX 2.0 and COREX 3.0 are two generations of that coil, and both share the same XROS connector. The generation never changes which devices a pod fits. Resistance is the only thing that does.

According to Vaporesso, COREX 3.0 swaps the earlier MORPH-MESH structure for a new HIVE-MESH structure and, in the new 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω pods, changes the heating wire from nickel chrome to iron chrome aluminum. Vaporesso first launched COREX 3.0 in the 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω pods, and its newest device pages now say all XROS pods have been upgraded to it. You may still see COREX 2.0 pods for sale, and they fit exactly the same devices.

2mL vs 3mL XROS pods

2mL and 3mL XROS pods use the same shell connector and fit the same devices. The only difference is how much e-liquid the pod holds.

  • Why two sizes exist: Vaporesso explains that markets with tank-size limits, such as the UK and EU, get 2mL versions, and some US kits ship with 2mL pods too. A 2mL pod fits a device bought elsewhere, and the other way round.
  • Some pods only come in 2mL: Vaporesso lists the 1.0Ω and 1.2Ω pods in 2mL only. The 0.4Ω, 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω pods come in both sizes.
  • At Black Note: the 0.4Ω, 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω pods we carry are 3mL, and the 1.0Ω and 1.2Ω pods are 2mL.

How to fill, prime and replace an XROS pod

  1. Fill to about 90 percent

Current XROS pods fill from the top, under the mouthpiece; some older pods fill from the side. Vaporesso advises stopping short of the brim, because the air gap helps prevent leaks.

  2. Wait before the first puff

Most Vaporesso manuals say to wait 5 minutes after filling a new pod so the coil can soak. The XROS 6 and XROS 6 Mini cut that to about a minute with Smart Prime, at 41°F (5°C) or warmer.

  3. Set the airflow for your draw

Most XROS devices have an airflow control. Close it down for a tighter mouth to lung draw, open it up for a looser one.

  4. Replace the whole pod when it fades

The coil is built into the pod, so there is no separate coil to change. Swap the pod when flavor turns burnt or flat or the vapor gets weaker. Vaporesso estimates 6 to 8 refills per pod, roughly one to two weeks, though your e-liquid and how much you vape change that.

Pairing XROS pods with Black Note tobacco e-liquid

The 1.0Ω and 1.2Ω pods deliver the low-power, mouth to lung draw that nicotine salts are made for, which makes them a natural match for Black Note salt nicotine, made with naturally extracted tobacco. For Black Note 50/50 tobacco e-liquids, the 0.8Ω pod is the usual pick, and the 1.0Ω and 1.2Ω pods work too.

Frequently asked questions

Nearly all. Every 0.6Ω, 0.8Ω, 1.0Ω and 1.2Ω XROS pod fits every XROS device Vaporesso has made, from the original 2020 XROS to the XROS 6. The 0.4Ω pod is the exception: Vaporesso lists it for the XROS Pro, XROS Pro 2 and the XROS 4, 5 and 6 models, does not list it for older devices, and says the XROS MINI Retro takes most XROS pods but not the 0.4Ω.

All of them. Vaporesso says the XROS 4 is compatible with the entire XROS pod series and lists the 0.4Ω, 0.6Ω, 0.8Ω, 1.0Ω and 1.2Ω pods for it. The same goes for the XROS 4 Mini and XROS 4 Nano. On the XROS 4 you choose one of three output modes, while the XROS 4 Nano adds 0.5W power steps with the 0.4Ω pod. Our XROS 4 review covers the device in full.

Yes. There is no separate XROS 6 pod: the XROS 6 takes the same XROS Series pods as every other XROS, and Vaporesso’s newest device pages say all XROS pods have been upgraded to COREX 3.0. Any 0.6Ω to 1.2Ω pod fits every XROS back to the 2020 original. The 0.4Ω pod fits the XROS 5, XROS 5 Mini and XROS 5 Nano, but is not listed for the XROS 3 family or earlier.

Genuine Vaporesso XROS Series pods, in the resistance that matches your draw. Vaporesso calls the 0.8Ω pod its most popular, default choice for a balanced mouth to lung draw. Choose 1.0Ω or 1.2Ω for a tighter draw with nicotine salts, or 0.6Ω for a looser one. Vaporesso also cautions that third-party pods may physically fit, but their sealing and coil quality vary.

The 1.0Ω and 1.2Ω pods. They run at Vaporesso’s lowest recommended power, 12W and 10W, and give the tight mouth to lung draw that salt nicotine is made for. The 0.8Ω pod also works with salts if you want a slightly looser draw. Pair them with Black Note salt nicotine, and take the Vape Quiz if you’re unsure which strength to start with.

Vaporesso does not list the 0.4Ω pod for the XROS 3, XROS 3 Mini, XROS 3 Nano, XROS Cube, XROS 2, XROS Mini, XROS Nano or the original XROS, so we don’t recommend it there. For the loosest draw those devices support, choose the 0.6Ω pod, which Vaporesso lists as compatible with the entire XROS series.

No. One Vaporesso store page describes an exclusive 0.4Ω pod for the Pro 2, but the Pro 2‘s own product page kit list and official flyer name the standard XROS Series 0.4Ω mesh pod, the same pod the XROS Pro and XROS 4 Nano use. Like those devices, the Pro 2 lets you set power in 0.5W steps with that pod fitted. Our XROS Pro 2 review has the details.

Yes. 2mL and 3mL XROS pods use the same connector and fit the same devices; only the amount of e-liquid differs. Vaporesso sells 2mL versions in markets with tank-size limits, such as the UK and EU, and the 1.0Ω and 1.2Ω pods come in 2mL only.

The coil is built into the pod, so you replace the whole pod. Swap it when the flavor turns burnt or flat, or the vapor gets noticeably weaker. Vaporesso estimates 6 to 8 refills per pod, roughly one to two weeks, depending on your e-liquid and how much you vape. After filling a new pod, wait 5 minutes before the first puff, or about a minute on the XROS 6 and XROS 6 Mini.
