Description

The VOOPOO Argus GT II is a dual-18650 box mod built for durability as much as output. It runs up to 200W on the GENE.TT 2.0 chipset and carries an IP68 tri-proof rating against water, dust and drops, which is unusual at this size. The kit ships with the 5.5mL UFORCE-L tank and takes the full PnP coil range.

The UFORCE-L tank uses a top-to-bottom airway with three air inlets rather than two, which VOOPOO designed to balance airflow and keep condensate out of the base. Coils press-fit rather than thread, so swapping one takes seconds. The QS lock switch can be set to lock wattage, lock the device, or act as the power toggle, and charging runs at 5V/3A over USB Type-C.

Because it takes two removable cells, the VOOPOO Argus GT II keeps running as long as you have charged 18650s. Compatible batteries are sold separately. The UFORCE-L tank is also sold on its own. For naturally extracted tobacco that keeps coils clean, run Special Blend or Virginia in 70/30.

The VOOPOO Argus GT II runs on two 18650 batteries, which are not included with the kit. Because the cells are removable rather than built in, you can keep a charged pair on hand and swap them rather than waiting on a recharge. Use cells rated for the current the device draws at high wattage, and always carry spares in a proper battery case rather than loose in a pocket.

The VOOPOO Argus GT II ships with the UFORCE-L tank, which holds 5.5mL in the bubble glass or 2mL in the TPD version and is built from stainless steel and Pyrex. It takes the full PnP coil range by press fit. The kit includes a 0.2 ohm PnP-TW20 rated 40 to 55 watts and a 0.15 ohm PnP-TW15 rated 55 to 70 watts.

Black Note 70/30 VG/PG e-liquids suit the VOOPOO Argus GT II. Run Special Blend or Virginia on the 0.3 ohm PnP-VM1 coil at 32 to 40 watts for a warmer tobacco-forward draw, or on the included 0.2 ohm PnP-TW20 at 40 to 55 watts for more vapor. Even though the VOOPOO Argus GT II reaches 200 watts, tobacco is best at the lower end of each coil band, because heat mutes the subtler notes.

IP68 is a sealing standard covering dust and water ingress. On the VOOPOO Argus GT II, VOOPOO describes it as tri-proof: water resistant, dust resistant and drop resistant. In practice it means the device tolerates rain, dusty environments and being knocked off a table better than a standard mod. It is not an invitation to submerge it, and VOOPOO notes the MAAT Tank variant of this kit did not obtain IP68 certification.

The VOOPOO Argus GT II performs well with naturally extracted tobacco e-liquids that contain no added sweeteners. Heavily sweetened e-liquids can gunk a PnP coil within two to three days. Black Note Special Blend and Special Blend 3.0 are made specifically to reduce coil buildup through an additional filtration step and contain no added sweeteners. Used in the VOOPOO Argus GT II, these typically extend coil life to one to two weeks under normal daily use.

The VOOPOO Argus GT II offers four modes through the GENE.TT 2.0 chipset. Smart mode reads the fitted coil and sets a sensible wattage for you. RBA mode hands wattage control back to you for rebuildable or manual use. Turbo mode boosts output at the start of a draw for a faster ramp. Temperature Control works with stainless steel, nickel and titanium wire to cap coil temperature rather than power.

The VOOPOO Argus GT II suits an intermediate vaper better than a complete beginner. It requires buying and caring for two 18650 batteries, understanding wattage, and a preference for direct-lung vaping with higher-VG e-liquid. Smart mode does lower the barrier by setting wattage automatically. Someone switching directly from cigarettes is usually better served by a pod system with salt nicotine and a higher-resistance coil.

The VOOPOO Argus GT II is a dual-18650 mod reaching 200 watts with a 5.5mL tank and an IP68 rating. The Argus Pro is a single-unit pod mod with a built-in 3000mAh battery reaching 80 watts and a 4.5mL PnP pod. Both take PnP coils, so coils carry across.     I am very happy with this mod. I bought 2 of them and they both have one flaw. The screws holding the 510 thread connection together are too short and will fail in about 2 months time. The top plate will come loose. Take your tank off, pry off the plate and swap the middle screws for the ones holding the tank down (they should already be loose at this point). Put it back together and the problem is solved. I really like the features on this tank and the service Black Note gives is top notch. I have personally found them to be a company with honesty, integrity and sincere customer service. Plus the prices and prompt delivery. I'm a repeat customer.
