Geekvape Coil Compatibility Chart: B, Z, M, P and Super Mesh

Geekvape Coil Compatibility Chart: B, Z, M, P and Super Mesh

The letter on a Geekvape coil tells you which tanks and pods it fits. Geekvape lists B coils for the Z Nano 2, Z Nano 3 and Z Nano MTL tanks and the Aegis Hero, Boost and Force pods, and Z coils for the Zeus (Z) Sub-Ohm, Z Fli and Z Subohm Tank 5 tanks, including the Z tanks in the newer Aegis Legend and Solo kits. M coils fit the Z Max Tank only, P coils fit the Aegis Boost Pro and B100, and Super Mesh X1 and X2 coils are listed for the Cerberus Tank. The chart below covers 34 Geekvape tanks and kits, checked against Geekvape’s own pages.

At a glance
B coils: Nano tanks and pods Geekvape lists B coils for the Z Nano 2, Z Nano 3 and Z Nano MTL tanks and the Aegis Hero, Boost and Force pods.
Z coils: Zeus tanks Geekvape lists Z coils for the Z Sub-Ohm, Z Sub-Ohm 2021, SE, Z Fli, Z Fli 2 and Z Subohm Tank 5. The newer Legend and Solo kits ship with one of these.
M and P stay put Geekvape says M coils fit only the Z Max Tank. P coils are listed for the Aegis Boost Pro, B100 and a few other kits.
Boost Version swaps in Geekvape says the upgraded B and Z coils share the same interface as the older ones and are fully interchangeable.

How Geekvape coil compatibility works

Geekvape groups its coils into lettered series and lists which tanks and pods each series is for. Start with the series, then check the resistance: some listings name only certain resistances for a tank or pod (see the gaps section below). Here are the families Geekvape documents for its tanks and pod mods:

  1. B series: small coils for the Z Nano tanks and the Aegis Hero, Aegis Boost and Aegis Force pods. Comes as Classic, Boost Version and B MTL coils.
  2. Z series: large sub-ohm coils for the Zeus (Z) Sub-Ohm tank family and the Z Fli tanks. Comes as Classic, XM and XM Boost Version coils.
  3. M series: multi-coil heads that Geekvape says fit the Z Max Tank only.
  4. P series: coils for the Aegis Boost Pro and B100 (Aegis Boost Pro 2) pods, plus a few other kits.
  5. Super Mesh X1 and X2: listed in Geekvape’s coil guide for the Cerberus Tank.

On a box mod kit, the tank decides. The coil goes in the tank, so it depends on which tank sits on the mod. The Aegis Mini 5 kit comes with a Z Nano 3 tank that takes B coils, and Geekvape’s Mini 5 page also says “Universal 510 Compatibility.” Geekvape’s Z coil page lists the Mini 5 and M100 as devices for Z coils too, which, since the coil sits in the tank, we read as meaning with a Z tank fitted. On pod mods like the Aegis Hero 5 or B60, the coil goes in the pod, so the pod decides.

Geekvape’s Q and N pods are different again: on most of them the coil is built into the pod, so you replace the whole pod. They have their own section below.

None of the Geekvape pages we checked uses the words “not compatible” for a coil family. The closest are the M coil and Z Max Tank listings, which say each is “only compatible” with the other, and the coil guide’s note that the P Subohm Tank takes Z0.2 and Z0.4 coils “Except Z0.25.” Elsewhere Geekvape lists which tanks each coil is for. When a coil isn’t on a tank’s list, we don’t recommend it there.

The Geekvape coil compatibility chart

Each row shows the coils Geekvape lists for that tank or kit on an official Geekvape page: the product page, the coil’s own page, a kit’s package list on Geekvape’s store, or Geekvape’s coil guide (marked “coil guide”). Tanks come first, then kits. Names link to the product on Black Note where we carry it.

Where to buy each family: B series coils, Z series coils, M series coils, P series coils and Super Mesh X1/X2 coils. Empty pods that take these coils: Aegis Hero 6.5mL pods, H45 (Aegis Hero 2) pods, B60 pods, B100 pods and Aegis Boost Pro pods.

Not in the chart: the original Aegis Legend, the original Aegis Max and the Aegis X kit. Geekvape’s product pages for them are online but empty, and we couldn’t confirm their coils from an official source.

Geekvape B series coil compatibility

B coils are the most widely shared Geekvape coil. On its B Series Coil page Geekvape lists six homes for them: the Z Nano 3 Tank, Force Cartridge, Z Nano 2 Tank, Aegis Hero Cartridge, Boost Cartridge and Z Nano MTL Tank. Its store adds the H45 (Aegis Hero 2) and Aegis Hero 5 cartridges and the B60 (Aegis Boost 2) and Aegis Boost 3 pod by name.

Geekvape B series coils
Coil Rated power Versions Geekvape notes
B0.15 60W to 75W Boost Version The store lists it for the Aegis Force pod only
B0.2 50W to 58W Classic and Boost Version Direct lung (Boost Version)
B0.3 30W to 38W Classic and Boost Version Direct lung (Boost Version)
B0.4 25W to 35W Classic and Boost Version Restricted direct lung (Boost Version)
B0.6 15W to 25W Classic and Boost Version Restricted direct lung (Boost Version)
B1.2 Classic 10W to 14W Classic Coil guide lists the Aegis Boost LE Bonus
B MTL 0.8 12W to 16W B MTL Fitted in the Z Nano MTL Tank
B MTL 1.2 8W to 12W B MTL Spare in the Z Nano MTL Tank

Boost Version vs Classic. The Boost Version is Geekvape’s upgraded B coil. Geekvape says both versions “share the same interface and are fully interchangeable,” so any device that takes a B coil takes the Boost Version too. Geekvape’s own pages call it “B Coil (Boost Version)” or “Upgrade Boost.” The name “V2” doesn’t appear on any Geekvape page we checked, so if you see a B coil sold as V2, the Boost Version is the closest Geekvape name.

B MTL coils are the 0.8Ω and 1.2Ω heads for a tighter draw. Geekvape’s store lists them for the Z Nano MTL, Z Nano 2, H45 and Hero 5 cartridges, the B60 and Boost 3 pod and the Aegis Force pod. Geekvape’s Aegis Hero 5 listing says it supports “B Boost coils” at 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8 and 1.2Ω.

We carry Geekvape B series coils and the empty pods they go in: Aegis Hero 6.5mL pods, H45 pods (shared by the H45 and H45 Classic, per Geekvape) and B60 pods (B60 and Aegis Boost 3). Our Aegis Hero 5 review and Aegis Mini 5 review cover two of the newest B coil devices.

Z series coils: the Zeus tanks and the big Aegis mods

Z coils are Geekvape’s high-wattage sub-ohm coils. Geekvape’s store lists the current Z XM Coil (Boost Version) for the Z Fli Tank, Z Fli 2 Tank, Z Subohm Tank, Z Subohm Tank 2021, Z Subohm SE Tank and Z Subohm Tank 5, and for the Aegis Legend 5, Legend 3, Legend 2, Aegis Max 2 and Aegis Solo 3 kits.

Geekvape Z series coils
Coil Rated power Version Geekvape notes
Z0.15 XM 70W to 85W XM and Boost Version Fitted in the Z Fli, Z Fli 2, SE tank and Legend 5 kit
Z0.2 XM 70W to 80W Boost Version Fitted in the Aegis Solo 5 kit
Z0.4 XM 50W to 60W XM and Boost Version The usual spare in newer Z kits
Z0.15 80W to 90W Classic Also a Z0.15 SS316L at 60W to 70W
Z0.2 70W to 80W Classic (formerly Mesh Z2) Single mesh
Z0.25 45W to 57W Classic Dual mesh; not for the P Subohm Tank
Z0.4 50W to 60W Classic (formerly Mesh Z1) The spare in the original Z Sub-Ohm Tank

XM and Boost Version. Geekvape says XM stands for an upgraded core structure (“X”) and mesh (“M”). The newest Z XM Coil (Boost Version) lasts about 50mL to 60mL of e-liquid, per Geekvape, and Geekvape says it shares the same interface as earlier Z coils and is fully interchangeable with them. Any tank that takes a Z coil takes the Boost Version.

Which Z coil for a Zeus tank? Geekvape doesn’t rank its coils, so pick by the wattage you vape at: the Z0.25 dual mesh runs lowest at 45W to 57W, the 0.4Ω coils at 50W to 60W, the 0.2Ω coils at 70W to 80W, and the 0.15Ω XM at 70W to 85W. Two Zeus-named tank lines use other coils: Geekvape says the Z Max takes only M coils, and it lists B coils for the Z Nano tanks.

We carry Geekvape Z series coils, the Z (Zeus) Sub-Ohm Tank and the Z Fli Tank. For the kits, see our Aegis Legend 5 review, Aegis Legend 3 review, Aegis Solo 3 review and Zeus Sub-Ohm Tank review.

M, P and Super Mesh coils: the ones that don't cross over

These three families each serve a short list of tanks or pods.

  • M series (Z Max Tank): Geekvape says M coils are “only compatible with Geekvape Zeus Max Tank,” and that the Z Max Tank “is only compatible with Geekvape M Series Coil.” The range is M0.14 (60W to 80W), M0.15 Quadra (85W to 100W), M0.2 Triple (70W to 85W) and M0.3 Dual (55W to 65W). The L200 Classic kit ships with the Z Max Tank and M coils. We carry Geekvape M series coils and the Z Max Tank.
  • P series (Aegis Boost Pro and B100): Geekvape lists P coils for the Aegis Boost Pro, the B100 (Aegis Boost Pro 2), the Obelisk 60, the E100 (Aegis Eteno), the E100i and the Z100 DNA kit. The range is P0.15 XM (70W to 85W), P0.2 (60W to 70W), P0.4 (50W to 60W) and P0.5 (40W to 50W, listed for the Obelisk 60). The B100 kit ships with P0.15 XM and P0.4. We carry Geekvape P series coils, B100 pods and Aegis Boost Pro pods; our B100 review covers the kit.
  • Super Mesh X1 and X2 (Cerberus Tank): Geekvape’s coil guide lists the X1 at 0.2Ω (60W to 70W) and the X2 at 0.4Ω (50W to 60W), both for the Cerberus Tank. It names no other tank for them. We carry Super Mesh X1/X2 coils.

Don’t mix up P coils and the P Subohm Tank. Despite the name, Geekvape’s coil guide lists the P Subohm Tank for Z0.2 and Z0.4 coils, and it doesn’t list P coils for that tank.

Q and N pods: the coil is built in

Geekvape’s Q and N cartridges carry their own coil, so you choose a pod by resistance and replace the whole pod.

Geekvape Q and N pods and the devices Geekvape lists
Pod Rated power Devices Geekvape lists
Q pod 0.4Ω (side fill) 25W to 30W Wenax Q2, Wenax Q Ultra, Wenax Q Pro, Sonder Q3, Sonder Q2, Aegis Hero Q
Q pod 0.6Ω 18W to 25W The six above plus Wenax Q, Wenax Q Mini, Digi Q, Geekvape AQ, Sonder Q
Q pod 0.8Ω 12W to 18W The 0.6Ω list plus Sonder Q Lite
Q pod 1.2Ω 8W to 12W Same as the 0.8Ω list
N cartridge 0.6Ω 20W to 25W Aegis Nano (30W), AN 2 (Aegis Nano 2), Aegis Nano 3
N cartridge 1.2Ω 11W to 14W Aegis Nano (30W), AN 2 (Aegis Nano 2), Aegis Nano 3
  • Q pods come in 2mL top-fill, 2mL side-fill and 3mL side-fill versions, plus a child-resistant 3mL side-fill pod. The 0.4Ω pod is listed for six devices only. Geekvape’s Q pod page also mentions a new self-install side-fill pod with a replaceable coil. Shop Geekvape Q pods for the Sonder Q, Digi Q, Wenax Q Pro and Wenax Q.
  • N cartridges fit the first and second generation Aegis Nano, per Geekvape, in both the regular and upgraded versions, and the Aegis Nano 3 page says it takes them too. We sell them as Geekvape N cartridges and Aegis Nano replacement pods (N cartridge) for the AN 2 and Aegis Nano.
  • Aegis ONE and Wenax pods are separate again: Geekvape lists the Aegis ONE pod (0.8Ω and 1.2Ω) for the Aegis One and Aegis 1FC, and its coil guide lists the Wenax M1 Cartridge for the Wenax M1, while the Wenax M2 page says it takes Wenax M series cartridges.

Our Sonder Q review and Aegis Nano review cover two of these pod kits.

What Geekvape's pages don't settle

We built this chart from Geekvape’s own pages only, and a few of them disagree or leave gaps. Here’s where, and what we did about it:

  • Z coils and nicotine salt. Geekvape’s Z Series Coil FAQ says Z coils work with salt nicotine e-liquids. Its newer Z XM Coil (Boost Version) FAQ says nicotine salt e-liquids are not recommended and suggests freebase at 3mg or less. We followed the newer page in our pairing advice.
  • B coil lifespan. Geekvape’s B coil page says the Boost Version lasts about 50mL to 60mL of e-liquid. Its store says the lifespan went “from the original 20mL to 40mL.”
  • Wattage differences. The Z Fli and Z Fli 2 package lists give the Z0.4 XM spare as 45W to 57W, while Geekvape’s coil pages say 50W to 60W. The Z Sub-Ohm Tank store listing gives the 0.4Ω Mesh Z1 as 60W to 70W against 50W to 60W elsewhere. The Aegis Boost pod lists the 0.4Ω B coil at 25W to 33W against 25W to 35W. We used the coil pages’ figures.
  • B coils in the Z Nano MTL and Z Nano 3. The Z Nano MTL page lists B MTL coils only, while Geekvape’s B coil page includes the tank with no detail on which B coils. The store’s B MTL listing doesn’t name the Z Nano 3. We list only what each tank’s own page states.
  • Hero cartridges. Geekvape sells 4mL, 5mL and 6.5mL cartridges under one “Aegis Hero 2/Hero 5 Cartridge” listing and doesn’t say which capacity fits which device. The 6.5mL cartridge is the one in the Aegis Hero 5 kit.
  • Super Mesh X1 and X2: the only Geekvape page we found listing them is the 2023 coil guide, for the Cerberus Tank. We found no current Geekvape product page for the coils, and Geekvape’s Cerberus SE tank page is empty.
  • Q pod lists. The Digi Q Vista and AN 2 pages say they take Q pods, but neither is on Geekvape’s Q pod compatibility chart.
  • Empty and older pages. Geekvape’s old Z, B, P, G and M “Coil SERIES” pages and several older product pages (Aegis Boost, Boost Plus, Boost Pro, Aegis Hero, Aegis Legend, Aegis Max, P Subohm Tank) have no content now. For those, we used Geekvape’s store and coil guide.

If you’re not sure a coil fits, stick with the series Geekvape lists for your tank or pod. If a coil doesn’t seat firmly, don’t force it.

Pairing Geekvape coils with Black Note tobacco e-liquid

Resistance tells you how a coil draws. As a general rule (our guidance, not Geekvape’s), MTL coils and pods at 1.0Ω and up, such as the B MTL 1.2Ω and the 1.2Ω Q and N pods, run at low power with a tight draw that suits Black Note salt nicotine and Black Note 50/50 tobacco e-liquids. Lower-resistance pods and coils, about 0.8Ω and below, and every sub-ohm tank coil in this guide (B, Z, M, P and Super Mesh) pair with thicker 70VG/30PG e-liquid.

Not sure which strength or blend to start with? Take the Vape Quiz and get matched to a strength, device and tobacco e-liquid in about 60 seconds. Using a Vaporesso device as well? Our XROS pod compatibility chart covers every XROS.

Frequently asked questions

Z series coils. Geekvape lists Z coils for its Zeus (Z) Sub-Ohm tanks, and its newest Z coil is the Z XM Coil (Boost Version) in 0.15Ω, 0.2Ω or 0.4Ω, which Geekvape says lasts about 50mL to 60mL of e-liquid and fits any device that supports Z coils. Choose by wattage: 0.4Ω at 50W to 60W, 0.2Ω at 70W to 80W, 0.15Ω at 70W to 85W. The Z Max Tank is the exception and takes M series coils only. Shop Geekvape Z series coils.

Z series coils. Geekvape sells the Legend 5 kit with either the Z Sub-Ohm Tank 2021 or the Z Subohm Tank 5, and both ship with a Z0.15 XM coil fitted and a Z0.4 XM spare. Get Z series coils for it, or see the Aegis Legend 5 kit and our Legend 5 review.

B series coils. Geekvape’s Hero 5 listing says it supports B Boost coils at 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8 and 1.2Ω, and the kit ships with a B0.4 fitted and a B0.2 spare in a 6.5mL cartridge. Shop B series coils and Aegis Hero 6.5mL pods, or read our Aegis Hero 5 review.

Both take B series coils in the same pod: Geekvape sells one B60 (Aegis Boost 2)/Boost 3 pod for both devices, and both kits ship with B0.2 and B0.6 coils. Geekvape’s store lists Boost Version and B MTL coils for that pod too. Shop B series coils and B60 pods, or read our B60 review.

The M100 kit comes with the Z Nano 2 Tank, which takes B series coils: Geekvape ships it with a B0.2 fitted and a B0.6 spare. Geekvape also lists the M100 on its Z coil page, which we read as applying when a Z tank is fitted instead. See the M100 kit and B series coils.

Geekvape’s coil guide lists the Super Mesh X1 (0.2Ω, 60W to 70W) and X2 (0.4Ω, 50W to 60W) for the Cerberus Tank, and names no other tank for them. We carry Super Mesh X1/X2 coils.
