Vaporesso GTX and GTi Coil Compatibility Chart: Which Coils Fit Your Device

Vaporesso’s GTX, GTi and GT coils are three separate platforms, and they don’t swap. GTi coils go in the iTank, iTank 2 and iTank T on the Target 200, GEN 200, GEN 80S and the Armour S, Max, Ultra and Octa. GTX coils go in pods and small tanks: the Luxe XR empty pod, the Armour G Series pod, the xTank pod, the GTX Tank 18 and 22 and others. GT coils go in the NRG family of tanks. Vaporesso’s store says GTi and GTX “are separate platforms and are not interchangeable.” The chart below covers 41 Vaporesso devices, checked against Vaporesso’s own pages.
How Vaporesso coil compatibility works
The device name rarely tells you the coil. The Target 80 pod kit takes GTX coils, while the Target 80 iTank kit takes GTi coils. The GEN PT80S is GTX, but the GEN 80S is GTi. What matters is the pod or tank that sits on the device, and that decides the coil platform:
- GTX coils: mesh and Dual Mesh coils from 0.15Ω to 1.2Ω for pods and small tanks (Luxe XR, Armour G Series, xTank, PM80, PM40, Swag PX80 and GTX pods, and the GTX Tank 18, GTX Tank 22, iTank X and XTank T). Vaporesso’s GTX coil page groups 0.15Ω to 0.4Ω as DTL and 0.6Ω to 1.2Ω as MTL.
- GTi coils: DTL coils from 0.15Ω to 0.5Ω for the iTank, iTank 2 and iTank T. Vaporesso says the platform was “specially developed for the DTL vaping.”
- GT coils: the GT Core range for the NRG family of tanks on kits such as the Luxe II, GEN S and Swag II.
Vaporesso makes other coil lines too, but this guide covers these three. Some Vaporesso pods skip separate coils altogether: Luxe X pods have the coil built in, and the Luxe Q, Zero and Eco Nano devices each have their own pod family. We cover those after the chart.
Unlike some brands, Vaporesso does say “not compatible” in places. Its store pages say GTi coils are “Not compatible with GTX-platform devices” and that GTi and GTX “are separate platforms and are not interchangeable.” Where a Vaporesso page simply doesn’t list a coil for a device, we don’t recommend it there.
The Vaporesso coil compatibility chart
Each row shows what Vaporesso lists for that device on an official Vaporesso page: the device’s product page or manual, a pod or coil page’s compatibility list, or Vaporesso’s own coil guide. Device names link to the kit on Black Note where we carry it. Output is Vaporesso’s spec.

Not in the chart: the original Luxe, Revenger, Swag (first edition) and Switcher kits. We found no current Vaporesso product page for them. Vaporesso’s GT Core coil listing does name the NRG tank from the Revenger, Swag and Switcher kits, which we cover in the GT section below.
GTX coils: resistances and the pods that take them
GTX is Vaporesso’s widest platform. On its GTX coil page, Vaporesso lists ten coils and splits them by draw style:
| Coil | Wattage (Vaporesso) | Draw | Versions |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0.15Ω | 60W to 75W, best 70W | DTL | Mesh and Dual Mesh |
| 0.2Ω | 45W to 60W, best 55W | DTL | Mesh and Dual Mesh |
| 0.3Ω | 32W to 45W, best 40W | DTL | Mesh and Dual Mesh |
| 0.4Ω | 26W to 32W, best 30W | DTL | Mesh |
| 0.6Ω | 20W to 26W, best 24W | MTL | Mesh |
| 0.8Ω | 12W to 16W, best 16W | MTL | Mesh |
| 1.2Ω | 8W to 12W, best 11W | MTL | Mesh (Regular 1.2Ω on some kits) |
Other Vaporesso pages print wider ranges for a few of these, such as 20W to 30W for the 0.6Ω and 12W to 20W for the 0.8Ω. When pages differ, use the range printed on your coil. We carry these as Vaporesso GTX mesh coils.
Which pods and tanks take which GTX coils, per Vaporesso:
- Luxe XR DTL pod: 0.15Ω to 0.6Ω on the Luxe XR Max 2 page, including Dual Mesh. The Luxe X2 and X3 pages show 0.3Ω, 0.4Ω and 0.6Ω.
- Luxe XR MTL pod: 0.6Ω, 0.8Ω and 1.2Ω.
- Armour G Series pod: GTX Mesh 0.15Ω to 1.2Ω and GTX Dual Mesh 0.15Ω to 0.4Ω. Vaporesso adds: “0.15Ω Not Compatible With Armour G2.” Its store says the 0.15Ω Dual Mesh does fit the Armour GS2.
- xTank pod (GEN PT60 and PT80S): “Compatible with all GTX coils ranging from 0.15Ω to 1.2Ω.”
- XTank T (GTX One Pro): 0.4Ω, 0.6Ω, 0.8Ω and 1.2Ω.
- Luxe PM40 pod: 0.6Ω Mesh, 0.8Ω Mesh and 1.2Ω Regular. Vaporesso’s coil guide also lists it for the 1.2Ω Mesh.
- GTX Pod 22 and 26, Target PM80 pod, Swag pod: Vaporesso’s coil guide lists all three for the full range, 0.15Ω to 1.2Ω. The GTX Go page adds “Compatible with the triple-silicone version of GTX coils,” and the Target 80 page says the same.
- GTX Tank 18: ships with 0.8Ω and 1.2Ω. Vaporesso’s coil guide lists it for 0.6Ω and up only.
For the Luxe XR Max 2 in depth, read our Luxe XR Max 2 review.
GTi coils: the iTank family
GTi coils fit the iTank, iTank 2 and iTank T, and the box kits that ship with them. Vaporesso’s GTi page lists three mesh coils, and its official store adds a 0.5Ω Mesh plus Dual Mesh versions:
| Coil | Wattage (Vaporesso) | Versions | Shop |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0.15Ω | 75W to 90W, best 85W (best 80W on the store page) | Mesh and Dual Mesh | Not stocked |
| 0.2Ω | 60W to 75W, best 65W | Mesh and Dual Mesh | GTi mesh coils |
| 0.4Ω | 50W to 60W, best 55W | Mesh and Dual Mesh | GTi mesh coils |
| 0.5Ω | 30W to 40W, best 35W | Mesh | GTi mesh coils |
The three iTank tanks, per Vaporesso:
- iTank (8mL, or 5mL on the GEN 80S, Target 100 and Target 80 kits): ships with the 0.2Ω and 0.4Ω. Vaporesso’s coil guide lists all four GTi resistances for it.
- iTank 2 (8mL, or 5mL in the GEN 80S and Armour S kits): “More Power Options with all GTi Coils.” It came with the GEN 200, GEN 80S, Armour S and Armour Max kits.
- iTank T (6mL): top airflow, “fully compatible with all the GTi coil platform,” listed with the 0.15Ω, 0.2Ω, 0.4Ω and 0.5Ω Mesh. The Armour Ultra and Armour Octa ship a “Dual Mesh Version” of the iTank T, and those are the only device pages we found that list GTi Dual Mesh coils as compatible.
Vaporesso’s Armour Octa Mod listing puts it simply: “Coils live in the tank, not in the Mod.” Our Armour S review, GEN 200 iTank 2 review and Target 200 review cover three of these kits.
Luxe X pods vs Luxe XR pods
Per Vaporesso’s product pages, both pods fit the same Luxe X family devices; the difference is the coil.
- Luxe X pods are refillable but have the coil built in, so when the coil wears out you replace the whole pod. Vaporesso lists 0.3Ω, 0.4Ω, 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω Mesh and 0.4Ω and 0.6Ω Dual Mesh, in 5mL (2mL in some markets). We carry the 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω as Luxe X Corex 2.0 mesh pods.
- Luxe XR pods ship empty in DTL and MTL versions, also 5mL, and take GTX coils. Vaporesso calls the XR pod “the replaceable coil version of LUXE X pod.” Buy the Luxe XR empty pod and add GTX coils.
Which devices take each, per Vaporesso’s product pages:
- Luxe XR Max 2: “compatible with all LUXE X PODS and LUXE XR empty pods with GTX coils.”
- Luxe XR Max: “full compatibility of LUXE X pods and GTX coils.”
- Luxe X2: “compatible with all LUXE X pods and LUXE XR empty pods with GTX coils,” with the XR DTL pod shown at 0.3Ω, 0.4Ω and 0.6Ω and the XR MTL pod at 0.6Ω, 0.8Ω and 1.2Ω.
- Luxe X3: “Fully Compatible With LUXE X Family,” with the same XR DTL and MTL pod lists shown under “LUXE XR Empty Pods & GTx Coils.”
- Luxe X Pro: “all the LUXE X pods with built in coil and LUXE XR Pod with GTX coils.”
- Luxe X: “The LUXE XR pods are fully compatible on the LUXE X,” and the manual lists “LUXE X SERIES POD/GTX COIL.”
Next to the 40W Luxe X2 and the 40W 1500mAh model, Vaporesso’s Luxe X pod page notes “0.3Ω MAX 40W.” The Luxe X, X2, X3 and X Pro pages don’t show the 0.15Ω or 0.2Ω GTX coils. If you want those low resistances, Vaporesso shows them on the 80W Luxe XR Max 2. Our Luxe X2 review covers the Luxe X pods, and our Luxe XR Max review covers the XR pod with GTX coils.
GT coils and NRG tanks
GT Core is Vaporesso’s coil range for its NRG tanks. Vaporesso lists GT2 0.4Ω, GT4 0.15Ω, GT6 0.2Ω, GT8 0.15Ω, GT Meshed 0.18Ω, GT4 Meshed 0.15Ω, GT CCELL 0.5Ω and GT CCELL2 0.3Ω, sold in 3-packs.
Its store lists them for the “Vaporesso NRG Tank (Includes all of the Revenger Kit series, SWAG Kit, and Switcher Kit)” and the Cascade tanks. Vaporesso’s coil guide adds the NRG SE, NRG PE and NRG-S tanks, and the NRG SE page says it is “Adopted to Use All GT Coils.” The Luxe II, GEN S and Swag II in the chart ship with NRG tanks.
GT, GTX and GTi are three separate coil lines, and none of the Vaporesso pages we checked lists a GT coil in a GTX or GTi tank. The wattage ranges Vaporesso prints for GT coils vary between its pages, so go by the range printed on the coil. We don’t currently stock GT coils.
Luxe Q, Zero and Eco Nano: their own pods
These Vaporesso pod systems take pods rather than GTX or GTi coils. Each family uses its own refillable pods, sold by resistance:
- Luxe Q family: Luxe Q pods come in 0.6Ω, 0.8Ω and 1.0Ω Mesh and a 1.2Ω. Vaporesso says “Both LUXE QS and LUXE Q can be compatible with all 4 pods from 0.6Ω to 1.2Ω,” and the Luxe Q2, Q2 SE and Q3 pages each say “All LUXE Q Pods Compatible.”
- Zero family: “The ZERO S battery is compatible with all ZERO series pods from 1.0Ω to 1.3Ω,” and the Zero 2 page says its pods “are compatible with the whole ZERO series.” The Zero S page adds that its new 1.2Ω pod “is also compatible with the previous ZERO products.” We carry Zero S mesh pods for the Zero S, and going by those statements they also suit the Zero 2 and original Zero; our Zero 2 pods are discontinued. Our Zero 2 review covers the device.
- Eco Nano family: 6mL pods in 0.6Ω, 0.8Ω and 1.2Ω, plus 0.6Ω Lush Mesh. The Eco Nano 2 “is compatible with ECO NANO PODS including 0.6Ω, 0.8Ω and 1.2Ω,” and the Eco Nano Pro and Eco Nano Plus list the same 6mL pods. Shop Eco Nano replacement pods for the Eco Nano or Eco Nano Pro.
XROS has its own pod family too. See our XROS pod compatibility chart for every XROS device.
What Vaporesso's pages don't settle
We built this chart from Vaporesso’s own pages only, and a few of them disagree or leave gaps. Here’s where, and what we did about it:
- Luxe XR pods on the Luxe X, X2 and X3. Vaporesso’s product pages and the Luxe X manual say they fit. A compatibility table on Vaporesso’s online store says Luxe XR pods don’t fit the Luxe X, X2 or X3. We followed the product pages and manual.
- The 0.8Ω Luxe X pod on the Luxe X3. The same store table says to use the 0.6Ω for MTL on the X3, but the Luxe X3 product page lists the 0.8Ω.
- GEN 80S. One store table lists the GEN 80S as a GTX device. The GEN 80S product pages we checked show it with the iTank or iTank 2 and GTi coils, so the chart lists GTi.
- GTX wattages and draw style. Vaporesso’s GTX coil page gives 20W to 26W for the 0.6Ω and 12W to 16W for the 0.8Ω. Its coil guide and several tank pages give 20W to 30W and 12W to 20W, and the GTX Tank 18 page gives 7W to 11W for the 1.2Ω. We used the GTX coil page. The store’s GTX listing also calls the 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω “Restricted DTL,” where the coil page groups them as MTL.
- GTi Dual Mesh coils. Among device pages, only the Armour Ultra and Octa list GTi Dual Mesh coils, with the Dual Mesh version of the iTank T. Vaporesso’s store sells GTi Dual Mesh coils, but no page we found says whether they fit the original iTank, iTank 2 or standard iTank T. GTX Dual Mesh is listed at 0.15Ω to 0.3Ω on the coil page but at 0.15Ω to 0.4Ω on the Armour G2 page.
- “Triple-silicone” GTX coils. The Target 80 and GTX Go pages say they take the triple-silicone version of GTX coils. Vaporesso doesn’t explain how to tell an older GTX coil apart.
If you’re not sure a coil fits, stick with one Vaporesso lists for your device in the chart. If a coil or pod doesn’t seat firmly, don’t force it.
Pairing Vaporesso coils with Black Note tobacco e-liquid
Resistance tells you how a coil draws. As a general rule (our guidance, not Vaporesso’s), higher-resistance MTL coils and pods, such as the GTX 1.2Ω, the 1.0Ω and 1.2Ω Luxe Q pods, the Zero pods and the 1.2Ω Eco Nano pod, run at low power with a tight, mouth-to-lung draw that suits Black Note salt nicotine and Black Note 50/50 tobacco e-liquids. Lower-resistance coils and pods, about 0.8Ω and below, and every GTi and GT tank coil run at higher power with a looser draw and pair with thicker 70VG/30PG e-liquid.
Not sure which strength or blend to start with? Take the Vape Quiz and get matched to a strength, device and tobacco e-liquid in about 60 seconds.
