What customers say about Burley Tobacco

★★★★★

The search is over

“This is great. I was a Camel Wide Red smoker for years & then my regular vap shop with a good flavor tobacco vap closed it doors. I’ve been searching with no luck for a replacement flavor and was just about to give up and buy a pack of Camel Wides, but then I order this. The search is over, it came and to my surprise… IT’S GREAT! Even better than my old vap shop had. I just ordered 2 more bottles of the Burley Tobacco 18 mg.”

I grew up on a small tobacco farm

“I was looking for a vape product made from real tobacco, sans added chemicals & fake flavors. I ordered “Burley,” and it’s great. I grew up on a small tobacco farm, so I was pleasantly surprised to find real tobacco taste & essence in the juice. Thank you, Black Note, for making a cleaner, more genuine product!”

A perfect match with a fine brandy

“I just may have found a new favorite with this Burley. It’s a robust draw with a slight sweetness that finishes off with a nutty aftertaste… a perfect match with a fine brandy. You guys scored goal with this. Cheers!”

Your Burley Tobacco guide

Everything to know before you choose

Burley is the not-sweet tobacco.

The leaf is air-cured, hung in open barns to dry slowly with no heat and no smoke, and it comes out of the barn with very little natural sugar. Naturally extracted from that leaf, Burley tastes earthy and nutty, full-bodied but mellow, with a slightly dry finish that reads like a dry pipe or cigarette tobacco rather than a flavoring. One reviewer who ran our blends side by side called it “the least sweet, almost no sweetness”; many others say simply “not too sweet.” A few notice a faint natural sweetness on the exhale, and that is the leaf, not anything added.

Two things reviewers say most often. First, it is smooth: about one in six of the 1,018 reviews use the word, and “strong but not overpowering” is a common pairing. Second, it is the one they reach for when everything else tastes like candy. If sweet “tobacco” e-liquids put you off, start here.

Where it sits in the line: Burley and Cavendish are the two ends of our sweetness scale. Cavendish is dark Virginia, oak-barrel cured and steamed until it is naturally sweet and aromatic; Burley is the dry, nutty opposite. Against the other single-leaf blends, Virginia is mellow and mildly sweet, Kentucky is bold and smoky, and Burley sits between them: fuller than Virginia, without Kentucky’s smoke, and drier than both. Full-flavor cigarette smokers pick it for body without sweetness. The Vape Quiz sorts it in under two minutes.

What Vaping360 said in its Black Note review: “The tobacco flavor and overall taste is very clean and smooth.”

All three options use the same Burley tobacco extract. Bottle size, base ratio, and available strengths change.

Compatibility depends on the e-liquid type and the device or coil you use.

Real air-cured Burley tobacco extract, vegetable glycerin, propylene glycol, purified water, and nicotine when selected.

Most tobacco e-liquid is mixed from synthetic flavoring in an afternoon.

Burley is an American accident.

Questions buyers ask about Burley Tobacco

Earthy, nutty, and slightly dry. Burley is naturally low in sugar, so it reads full-bodied and mellow rather than sweet, closer to a dry pipe or cigarette tobacco than to a flavored e-liquid.

No. The leaf is naturally low in sugar and there are no sweeteners added. Customers most often describe it as “not too sweet”; one who compared our blends side by side called it “the least sweet, almost no sweetness.” A few notice a faint natural sweetness on the exhale; that is the leaf, and it is slight.

They are the two ends of our sweetness scale. Cavendish is dark Virginia, oak-barrel cured and steamed, naturally sweet and aromatic. Burley is dry, nutty, and not sweet. If you want a mellow, sweeter pipe-style tobacco, Cavendish. If you want dry and earthy, Burley.

Kentucky is fire-cured, bold and smoky, the darkest blend we make. Burley is air-cured, mellow and nutty, with no smoke in it. Reviewers who run both split on which feels fuller; the reliable difference is smoke. Kentucky has it, Burley does not.

Burley is a tobacco type first grown in Ohio and Kentucky in the 1860s. Air-cured means the leaf is hung in open barns to dry slowly with no heat and no smoke, which leaves it low in sugar and gives it the earthy, nutty character. Ours is naturally extracted from the real leaf.

50VG/50PG is smooth in MTL pods and low-wattage devices. 70VG/30PG has more VG for bigger vapor in sub-ohm setups. Salt nicotine comes in higher strengths and gives a smoother pull in pod devices. VG and PG are the two liquids in every e-liquid; more VG means thicker vapor, more PG carries flavor and feels a little sharper.

Freebase (50VG/50PG and 70VG/30PG) comes in 0, 3, 6, 12, and 18 mg in a 60mL bottle. Salt nicotine comes in 20, 30, and 50 mg in a 30mL bottle. The selector shows what is in stock today. Full-flavor smokers usually start at 6 mg in 50/50 or 20 mg salt in a pod; lights, 3 mg; sub-ohm, 3 mg in 70/30. Higher is not better, and the Vape Quiz takes under two minutes.

It is a full natural extract, so it leaves more on a coil than a light blend and you will change coils sooner than with Special Blend. There are no sweeteners in it and the leaf is low in sugar, which is the part that matters most for coil life.

    Nutty flavor

I was expecting a nutty flavor but taste just like a cigar. If you like cigars it’s perfect. I talked to customer service and they were the best.

    For a bolder taste

This is my go to when I want a little bolder flavor. It's tasty, but not overpowering.

I have always enjoyed smoking. I started when I was 12 years old. About 10 years ago asbestos from my Navy days caught up with me. Now at 80 years of age, I truly enjoy burly vape, no nicotine. It's great, just like smoking without all the problems. Yes, my doctors at the V.A. fuss at me, so what I'm 80 years old and I enjoy it.

Black Note is one of the more expensive juices out there but well worth it. I like the Burley and Kentucky the most and I like that they are not overly sweet. I'm searching for best nutty tobacco out there and while it is described as "nutty", it doesn't really have that much in the flavor. It is, however, great for mixing with other nut based juices. if anyone out there knows a really nutty tobacco flavor, please email me at; Leipold4312 at Gmail.

First time buying this vape juice and I am a pretty heavy smoker. I find most vape juices to be sweet tasting and I hate that unfortunately. My opinion on the burley? To me, it has very little taste (a lot like a cigarette tastes to me!) and no sweet aftertaste compared to others. It also has a smidge of a bite in your mouth - again, very similar to a cigarette. I purchased this one and special blend 3.0. I would not say it is just like a cigarette, but it is a pretty close alternative. The Special blend 3.0 reminds me of an ultra light cigarette. The burley on the other hand has the same taste, but more of a throat/chest hit like you would relate to a stronger cigarette like a red. Today will be my first day trying to quit smoking - I vape with a mod so I went with the 70/30 and 12mg of nicotine in both. I hope I can quit smoking! I prefer the burley and find it closer to how a cigarette feels to me.

    Great flavor

I go back and forth with this flavor and Kentucky. Burley is a bit more stout which I like. Mixed with a bit of coffee caramel it's awesome. I miss my red oak domestic from Johnson creek, but these flavors mixed are the closest and perhaps superior.
