Strengths shown in the selector change with stock. No single number fits everyone, and a higher number is not a better choice. If you are unsure, 3 or 6 mg in 50VG/50PG is a sensible first bottle; adjust on the second.

One honest note: Latakia is one of our richest natural extracts, and rich extracts leave more on a coil than a light blend does. Expect to change coils a little sooner than you would with Special Blend, and taste the difference every time you do. There are no sweeteners in it, which is the part that matters most for coil life.

The propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin are USP and Kosher certified.

Latakia contains no artificial flavors, added sweeteners, diacetyl, acetyl propionyl, acetoin, characterizing flavors, dyes, or synthetic nicotine. The 0 mg option contains no nicotine. The smoke and pepper you taste are the leaf and the curing, not a flavoring built to imitate them.

We steep real tobacco leaf in a cold maceration for six to eight weeks, then filter and blend it in small batches. Latakia moves through the same nine steps as every Black Note blend, and from field to bottle the full process can take up to three years. That time, plus small-batch extraction from real leaf, is the product difference behind the price.

Oriental leaf was sun-cured, then hung in closed rooms over slow fires of local woods and herbs until the smoke became part of the tobacco. Pipe blenders prize it as the note that turns a plain mixture into an English blend, and it has been used that way for well over a century.

Black Note’s Latakia joined the collection in 2016 under the name Quartet, a year after the original line launched. Longtime customers still call it Quartet, and the page address still carries the name. Same blend, same liquid.
