California Customers:
Starting January 1, 2025, a new state law will expand the existing flavor ban to include online sales of flavored nicotine products.
As a Black Note customer, this means you will no longer be able to purchase the following e-liquid product flavors in freebase and salt nicotine if shipping to California:
- Menthol Tobacco products
- Special Blend Menthol Tobacco products
- Any of the White Note Tobacco + Fruit & Dessert Flavors products
- Although Black Note Menthol and Special Blend Menthol are 100% naturally extracted from real tobacco and mint leaves, the law prohibits the sale of such products.

California Shipping Policy:
In compliance with California state law, all packages must be shipped with adult signature confirmation upon delivery.
We ship all California orders using GLS, a regional carrier which requires someone 21+ to be present to sign for the package. If no one is available, GLS will attempt re-delivery up to three times.
Important Shipping Details for California Orders:
✅ Adult Signature Required (21+) – Per state law, an adult (21+) must be present to sign for delivery.
✅ No PO Box Deliveries – GLS cannot deliver to PO Boxes due to the signature requirement. Please ensure your shipping address is correct.
✅ Flat $9.99 Shipping Fee – All California orders have a flat $9.99 shipping fee.
✅ Free Shipping on Orders $100+ – Orders $100+ qualify for free shipping while still requiring an adult signature.
📢 Important Free Shipping Update
To qualify for free shipping on orders $100+ in California, your final total must be $100 or more after applying discounts, coupons, and rewards points.
💡 Example:
- If your cart total is $105, but you use a $15 discount (coupons or reward points), your final total is $90, which does not qualify for free shipping.
- To still qualify, your total after all discounts must be $100 or more.
Transparency on Shipping Costs
We understand that shipping costs can add up, and we want to be upfront—each California package costs us an average of $17 to ship, but we cover part or all of the cost to keep it as affordable as possible.
💡 Orders of $100+ qualify for free shipping, meaning we absorb the full shipping cost. For orders under $100, the $9.99 flat fee helps offset mandatory carrier charges, including adult signature confirmation, fuel surcharges, and handling.
To further reduce shipping costs and minimize the number of deliveries requiring a signature, we recommend placing larger orders rather than multiple smaller ones.

GLS Delivery Policy and Instructions
⚠️ Important: If GLS makes 3 unsuccessful delivery attempts and your package is returned to us, reshipping will require the new shipping cost plus a $12.99 handling fee.
We use GLS (General Logistics Systems) for select orders. Because our products contain nicotine, an adult 21+ signature is required at delivery.

How to Manage a Missed Delivery
- Open the email titled “GLS Attempt Notification.”
- Tap Reschedule, then on the page click Re-Schedule at the top right.
- Pick a date and time window, or choose Hold for Pickup at a nearby depot.
- Add Delivery Notes if helpful, for example “please call on arrival.”
- You can also call 1-800-322-5555, Option 1 to reschedule by phone.
What to Expect
- Attempt 1: If no one 21+ is available, GLS leaves a notice and emails “GLS Attempt Notification.”
- Attempt 2: One attempt remains. We recommend rescheduling now to avoid a return.
- Attempt 3: If delivery is still unsuccessful, GLS returns the package to us. To reship, contact [email protected] or 1-800-949-3095. Reshipping requires the new shipping fee + $12.99 handling.
Tips for a Smooth Delivery
- ✅ Make sure someone 21+ will be available to sign on the scheduled day.
- 🏢 Consider using a work address if daytime home delivery is difficult.

Free Shipping for Orders $50+ (Excluding California)
📢 How Free Shipping Works
- For U.S. orders (except CA): Free shipping applies if your final total is $50+ after discounts and rewards points.
- For California orders: Free shipping applies if your final total is $100+ after discounts and rewards points.
💡 Example:
Your final amount after any discounts must remain above the free shipping threshold.
If your cart total is $55 and you use a $10 reward or coupon, your final total is $45, which does not qualify for free shipping.
Order Processing and Shipping Timeline (Business Days Only)
Order processing: We begin processing orders as soon as we receive them. Most orders leave our facility within 24 business hours.
Business day definition: Our business days are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. PST, excluding weekends and federal holidays. Orders placed after 5 p.m. on a business day, or on weekends/holidays, will begin processing at the start of the next business day.
Example: An order placed on Friday at 3 p.m. will start processing Friday afternoon, but the 24-business-hour count will extend over the weekend—meaning it won’t ship until Monday after 3 p.m.
Notification & tracking: Once your order is processed and out for shipment, we’ll send you an email with tracking information.
Exceptions: During major sales events, holidays, or unavoidable delays (e.g., carrier disruptions), processing may take slightly longer.
Note: “24 hours” refers to business hours — we do not process or ship orders outside of regular business hours or on weekends/holidays.
Expedited Shipping:
We prioritize consistent and reliable standard shipping for all our customers. As such, please note that expedited shipping options are not available. This approach allows us to focus on delivering your orders with care and efficiency.
Liability for Delays
Black Note is not responsible for delivery delays caused by circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to:
- Packages deemed “Undeliverable as Addressed”
- Weather-related delays, such as snowstorms or floods
- Acts of God

Black Note offers international shipping to various countries worldwide, continuously expanding our reach. If your country isn’t listed at checkout, we’re not yet shipping to your location.
Please be aware of your country’s laws on electronic cigarettes, as Black Note cannot be held liable for customs seizures due to local regulations against e-cigarette products.
Additionally, Black Note is not responsible for any duty fees and taxes imposed by your country on imported goods. Customs may require a customs tax payment once your package clears, which is a common practice internationally.
We do not assume liability for international shipments once they’ve been transferred to the delivery company.
Expect delivery within 5 to 8 business days, though this is not guaranteed. Shipping rates are calculated live based on package weight and destination.
