Geekvape Aegis Mini 5 Kit Review: Compact, Rugged, 100W

The Aegis Mini 5 makes sense when you want a durable all-in-one mod kit, not when you want the smallest possible vape. Geekvape combines a 3200mAh internal battery, 5 to 100W output, Smart and Power modes, and the Z Nano 3 tank in a single package. The standard 510 connection also leaves room to change tanks later.

The best reason to buy it is the balance. It offers more battery capacity and power than a typical pod system without requiring loose cells or a separate charger. The included B Series Boost coils cover a restrained 25 to 35W range with the 0.4-ohm coil and a warmer 50 to 58W range with the 0.2-ohm coil.

The caution is fit, not capability. This is built for restricted-direct-lung and direct-lung use. Anyone after a tight cigarette-like draw, very small carry, or a replaceable-battery mod should choose a different class of device. This is an editorial review based on manufacturer documentation, the live Black Note product page, and compatibility data. We have not completed an independent hands-on endurance test, so we do not score leak resistance or battery duration.

Built-in power without loose batteries

The 3200mAh battery removes the separate-cell decision from the setup. The practical benefit is convenience: charge the device by USB-C, use it, and recharge it as one unit. Actual runtime will change with wattage, coil resistance, and draw length, so a fixed number of days would be misleading.

Smart mode for a simpler starting point

Smart mode reads the installed coil and keeps the device within a suitable power range. Power mode gives you direct wattage control. For a new coil, start near the bottom of its printed range and move upward in small steps.

A 510 tank you can replace

The Z Nano 3 is not a sealed pod. It uses a standard 510 connection, a 5mL US-capacity tank, top filling, and replaceable Geekvape B Series coils. That makes the system easier to maintain over time and lets the mod work with another compatible 510 tank.

Two lock controls solve different problems

The side A-lock is the full lock for pocket or bag carry. A separate plus/minus button lock prevents accidental wattage changes without using the full lock. Use the full lock before carrying the device and the button lock when you want to protect a chosen setting.

1. Charge the device with a compatible USB-C power source. Geekvape specifies 5V/3A support and rates an 80 percent charge at about 40 minutes under its test conditions.
2. Choose the included 0.4-ohm coil for the lower 25 to 35W range or the included 0.2-ohm coil for the 50 to 58W range.
3. Install the coil fully, fill the Z Nano 3, and allow the wick to saturate according to the coil instructions before firing it.
4. Start at the low end of the printed wattage range. Raise power gradually until the warmth and vapor density suit you.
5. Adjust the top airflow before making another wattage change. Airflow and power work together, so changing both at once makes the result harder to read.

For liquid, this kit is better matched to lower-strength freebase and VG-forward e-liquids than to high-strength liquid intended for low-power pods. Browse the Black Note e-liquid range and match the formulation to the coil and wattage you choose.

• Dry or burnt taste: stop firing, confirm the tank has liquid, and make sure the coil was fully saturated. Replace a damaged coil rather than increasing power.
• Gurgling: check that the coil is seated correctly, the fill seal is closed, and liquid has not collected in the airflow path.
• No atomizer message: remove the tank, inspect and dry the 510 contacts, then reinstall the tank without overtightening it.
• Unexpected power changes: confirm which mode is active and that the device has read the correct coil resistance.

Wipe the 510 connection and tank base during coil changes. Replace worn seals, cracked glass, or a damaged drip tip before continuing to use the tank.
