Vaporesso XROS 6 Mini Review: The Simplest XROS Yet

The XROS 6 Mini makes sense when you want the XROS draw in the smallest, simplest package, not when you want information on a screen. Vaporesso took the XROS 6 platform, removed the 0.88-inch display, trimmed 11mm off the height, and kept the parts that matter: the 1600mAh battery, the 30W automatic output, the COREX 3.0 pods, SSS 2.0 leak resistance, and the adjustable side airflow.

The best reason to buy it is proportion. At 110.7 x 24.55 x 14.65mm it is one of the smallest devices that still carries a 1600mAh cell, and for a mouth to lung user on a 0.8Ω or higher pod that is comfortably a full day. The pods are the same XROS Series range from 0.4Ω to 1.2Ω, so anything you own from an XROS 3, 4 or 5 fits here.

The caution is the box, not the device. One 0.6Ω pod is included, and 0.6Ω runs warmer and airier than most salt nicotine users want. Budget for a pack of XROS Series pods in 0.8Ω, 1.0Ω or 1.2Ω on day one. We have not completed an independent hands-on endurance test, so we do not score battery duration or leak resistance from our own measurements.

1600mAh in a body this small is the point

The XROS 5 Mini carried 1500mAh. The XROS 6 Mini moves to 1600mAh while staying within a millimeter of the same footprint, so the gain over the previous Mini is modest; the real comparison is with the full-size XROS 6, which only adds 200mAh for its extra 11mm of height. For most mouth to lung users this is a full day between charges. Actual figures depend on pod resistance and how often you draw, so we do not quote a number of days. Charging is USB-C at 5V/2A; the full-size XROS 6 charges faster at up to 9V/2A, and that is one of the few real differences between them.

No screen, and that is a choice, not a gap

The Mini uses a battery indicator light instead of the XROS 6’s 0.88-inch TFT display. You lose the exact percentage and the output readout, and there is no menu. The one setting hides in the draw: two puffs within a second toggles between Eco mode (pulsing light) and Power mode (cascading light). Otherwise output follows the pod you fit. If you like knowing precisely when you are at 40 percent, buy the XROS 6. If you want to fill, draw and forget, the Mini is the cleaner design.

Airflow does most of the tuning

The side airflow control covers a tight cigarette-style draw at one end and a looser, warmer pull at the other. With the included 0.6Ω pod, closing the airflow down most of the way gets you a respectable mouth to lung hit; with a 1.0Ω or 1.2Ω pod fitted it becomes a proper salt nicotine device. Set it before you judge a fresh pod.

Same pods, same flavor as the XROS 6

The Mini runs the same COREX 3.0 hive-structure mesh pods as the XROS 6 and XROS 5, so flavor is identical across the three. The full range is stocked at Black Note as XROS Series replacement pods, and unsweetened e-liquid is the way to make them last.

1. Charge the device with any USB-C cable. It draws 5V/2A, so a standard phone charger is all it needs.
2. Fit the included 0.6Ω pod, or a higher resistance XROS pod if you vape salt nicotine.
3. Fill the pod through the top fill port. Do not overfill, and reseal the port firmly.
4. Let a fresh pod sit for a few minutes so the wick saturates. The device gives a 60 second Smart Prime reminder, but a few minutes is the better habit with thicker liquid.
5. Set the side airflow before the first draw. Closed for mouth to lung, open for a looser pull.
6. Draw to fire. There is no button and no screen. Two quick puffs within a second switch between Eco and Power mode; the light pulses for Eco and cascades for Power.

For e-liquid, the included 0.6Ω pod handles Black Note 70/30 blends and 50/50 blends. For salt nicotine, fit a 1.0Ω or 1.2Ω XROS pod and close the airflow. Black Note uses no sweeteners, which keeps pods cleaner for longer than a sugary flavor would.

• Dry or burnt taste: stop drawing, confirm the pod has liquid, and make sure the wick was saturated before the first use. Replace a burnt pod; it will not recover.
• Gurgling or spitback: the pod was overfilled or drawn too hard. Wipe the mouthpiece, take gentler pulls, and keep the fill port sealed.
• Seepage at the base: wipe the pod base and the device contacts at every pod change. SSS 2.0 handles most of it, but light condensation is normal on any pod system.
• Weak hit on the 0.6Ω pod: that pod is built for a warmer, airier draw. Close the airflow down, or switch to a 0.8Ω or higher pod for a tighter hit.
• Not firing: check the indicator light for battery level, then reseat the pod so the magnetic connection is fully home.

Pods are the consumable. Most users get one to two weeks from a pod on unsweetened e-liquid before flavor fades, less on sweetened liquid.

You want the smallest current XROS, all-day battery for mouth to lung use, and a device with almost nothing to set.

Skip it if

You want a screen and faster charging: the XROS 6 adds both for a few dollars more. You want clouds or adjustable wattage: look at the Vaporesso Luxe XR Max 2 instead.

Coming from an XROS 5 Mini? Your pods fit, the flavor is the same, and the battery gains only 100mAh, so there is no urgency. Buy the XROS 6 Mini when your current device wears out, not before.
