Vaporesso Luxe X3 Review: Bigger Battery, Real Wattage Control

Vaporesso Luxe X3 Review: Bigger Battery, Real Wattage Control

The Luxe X3 is Vaporesso’s adjustable pod kit for vapers who want a big battery and real wattage control without moving to a box mod. This review covers everything: the battery, the screen and buttons, every pod and coil that fits, which e-liquid to use with each, and the good, the bad and the ugly.

At a glance
Editorial verdict A strong pick for vapers who want adjustable wattage, a 2600mAh battery and 5mL pods in one compact body.
Best for Restricted lung and looser mouth to lung vapers who like to fine-tune power and try different coils.
Standout Takes Luxe X pods and Luxe XR pods with GTX coils from 0.3Ω to 1.2Ω, so one device covers almost every draw style.
Main tradeoff At about 100g it is heavier and thicker than slim pods, and the tightest airflow setting is still fairly loose.

Our verdict on the Vaporesso Luxe X3

The Luxe X3 makes sense when you want more battery and more control than a simple pod gives you, without the size of a box mod. Vaporesso moved the Luxe line up in the places that matter every day. The battery grew from 2000mAh in the Luxe X2 to 2600mAh, maximum output rose from 40W to 45W, and a 0.8-inch screen now shows your wattage and battery level. The Luxe X2 only had a colored light.

Vaporesso Luxe X3 Kit with its 5mL Luxe X pod

The biggest reason to buy it is flexibility. Two 5mL Luxe X Dual Mesh pods come in the box: a 0.6Ω fitted for a mouth to lung or restricted lung draw, and a 0.4Ω for a looser, warmer pull. It also takes the rest of the Luxe X pod range and Luxe XR empty pods fitted with GTX coils, from a tight 1.2Ω to a 0.3Ω direct lung coil. You can fire it with the button or just by drawing on it.

The caution is size and draw, not capability. It weighs about 100g, so it feels like a small mod rather than a stick. Its tightest airflow setting is still a relatively loose mouth to lung draw, so anyone who wants a cigarette-tight pull will be happier with a high-resistance XROS or Eco Nano pod.

This is an editorial review based on published specifications, US retailer listings, third-party reviews and the live Black Note product page. We have not completed an independent hands-on endurance test, so we report battery and coil life as others have measured them.

Design, size and build

The Luxe X3 keeps the Luxe family’s rounded, palm-sized shape: 107.6mm tall, 31.4mm wide and 22.8mm deep. The frame is metal (zinc alloy) and the pods are clear PCTG, so you can see how much e-liquid is left at a glance. At about 100g it has real weight in the hand, which some people like because it feels solid, and others notice in a jeans pocket.

Vaporesso Luxe X3 Kit features: 2600mAh battery, top fill, Dual Mesh pod, adjustable power and airflow, 0.8-inch screen

You get a 0.8-inch screen, a single fire button and an LED strip that changes color with the battery level. The airflow slider sits on the side and the slide lock is on the base.

Vaporesso makes eight colors: Carbon Black, Fluid Blue, Fluid Green, Fluid Purple, Gold Silk, Grey Silk, Sheer Pink and Sheer Red. Black Note stocks Carbon Black, Fluid Blue, Fluid Green, Grey Silk and Sheer Pink.

Battery life and charging

The battery

The 2600mAh battery is built in, so you charge the whole device rather than swapping cells. That is 600mAh more than the Luxe X2’s 2000mAh. Retailer listings quote anything from three to five days per charge, but those figures assume light use. One European tester got two full days on the 0.6Ω pod at 22W to 28W. Owner reviews of heavier use describe about a full day.

In practice, how long it lasts depends on three things: the pod (lower resistance pods use more power), the wattage you set, and how often you vape. A mouth to lung vaper on the 0.6Ω pod at the low end of its range will see the most days per charge. A heavier vaper on the 0.4Ω pod near 30W will see the fewest.

Vaporesso Luxe X3 Kit 2600mAh battery, 5mL pod and 5V/2A charging

Charging

It charges over USB-C at 5V/2A, faster than the Luxe X2’s 1.5A. Most listings put a full charge at about an hour, and the estimates run from about 60 to 90 minutes. A USB-C cable comes in the box. The LED strip tells you where you stand: green above 60 percent, blue from 20 to 60 percent, and red below 20 percent.

Power, Smart mode, screen and controls

Smart mode and wattage

The AXON chip reads the pod when you click it in and sets a recommended wattage automatically. That is Smart mode, and for most people it is all they need. To change the power, click the fire button three times, then click to step through the values. The X3 only lets you move within the range the fitted pod is rated for, so you cannot accidentally run a 0.6Ω pod at 45W.

Vaporesso Luxe X3 Kit 0.8-inch digital display and button controls

Button combinations

  • 5 clicks: turn the device on or off.
  • 3 clicks: enter wattage adjustment.
  • 4 clicks: turn the LED strip on or off.

The screen

The 0.8-inch screen shows your current wattage and battery percentage, and it shows a lock symbol when the lock is on. It is small for a device this size and only shows the essentials. If you want puff tracking or themes, look at the XROS 5 Nano.

Firing and the lock

You can fire it by pressing the button or simply by drawing, so you can vape it like a draw-activated pod and still have the button when you want it. The slide lock on the base is there for carrying it in a pocket or bag. Sources differ on exactly what it disables, so check the lock symbol on the screen before you put it away.

Pods and coils: everything that fits

Luxe X pods

The Luxe X3 is built around 5mL Luxe X pods. The kit includes two Dual Mesh pods, a 0.6Ω and a 0.4Ω, which use two mesh strips for a bigger heating area. Black Note also stocks Luxe X Corex 2.0 Mesh Pods in 0.4Ω, 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω. They have the coil built in and an SSS leak-resistant design. Vaporesso also makes a 0.3Ω Corex 2.0 pod for a looser direct lung draw.

Luxe XR pods with GTX coils

For more choice, the X3 takes Luxe XR empty pods fitted with GTX mesh coils. You replace only the coil, not the whole pod, and Vaporesso lists GTX coils from 0.3Ω to 1.2Ω for the X3. The 0.2Ω and 0.15Ω GTX coils are rated at 45W to 75W and above, which is beyond what the X3 is designed for, so leave those for larger devices. Our GTX and GTi coil compatibility chart lists every coil.

The table below shows each option with the power range it runs at, the draw it gives, and the e-liquid that suits it. Wattages for GTX coils come from Vaporesso’s ratings. Ranges for the Luxe X pods vary slightly between listings.

Vaporesso Luxe X3 Kit Luxe X series pod compatibility chart
  Power Draw E-liquid to use
0.4Ω Dual Mesh pod (in the box) 26W to 32W Restricted lung, loose and warm 70/30, lower nicotine freebase
0.6Ω Dual Mesh pod (in the box) About 20W to 26W Mouth to lung or restricted lung 50/50 or 70/30
0.8Ω Corex 2.0 pod About 12W to 16W Mouth to lung 50/50 or Salt Nicotine
GTX 0.3Ω coil (Luxe XR pod) 32W to 45W Direct lung 70/30, lower nicotine freebase
GTX 0.4Ω coil (Luxe XR pod) 26W to 32W Restricted direct lung 70/30
GTX 0.6Ω coil (Luxe XR pod) 20W to 26W Mouth to lung 50/50
GTX 0.8Ω coil (Luxe XR pod) 12W to 16W Mouth to lung 50/50 or Salt Nicotine
GTX 1.2Ω coil (Luxe XR pod) 8W to 12W Tight mouth to lung Salt Nicotine or 50/50

Airflow and draw

A slider on the side opens and closes the airflow independently of the wattage, so you can tune the draw on any pod. Fully open, the 0.4Ω pod and the low-resistance GTX coils give a restricted or direct lung draw. Closed down, the 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω pods give a mouth to lung draw.

Vaporesso Luxe X3 Kit narrow and wide mouthpieces for MTL and RDL

The honest caveat: one reviewer found that even fully closed, the X3 gives a relatively loose mouth to lung draw. If you are moving from cigarettes or a tight disposable and want that kind of pull, a 1.2Ω coil helps, but a dedicated mouth to lung device such as an XROS will feel tighter.

Which e-liquid to use in the Luxe X3

Vaporesso does not publish an official e-liquid guide for the Luxe X3, but the rule that applies to every pod system holds here. Lower resistance and higher wattage make more vapor, so they suit thinner nicotine levels and thicker, high-VG e-liquid. Higher resistance and lower wattage make less vapor, so they suit salt nicotine and 50/50.

Matching Black Note e-liquid to each pod

  • 0.4Ω Dual Mesh pod and GTX 0.3Ω or 0.4Ω coils: use 70VG/30PG at a lower nicotine level, such as 3 or 6mg/mL. High-strength salt nicotine in a sub-ohm pod at 30W or more gives a much stronger hit than most people want.
  • 0.6Ω Dual Mesh pod and GTX 0.6Ω coil: 50VG/50PG is the most reliable match. 70VG/30PG also works at the top of the pod’s wattage range.
  • 0.8Ω Corex 2.0 pod and GTX 0.8Ω or 1.2Ω coils: 50VG/50PG or Black Note Salt Nicotine. These run at low power with a tight draw, which is what salt nicotine is designed for.

Every Black Note tobacco and menthol e-liquid comes in three formulations: 50VG/50PG and 70VG/30PG (each in nicotine-free, 3, 6, 12 and 18mg/mL) and Salt Nicotine (20, 30 and 50mg/mL). The flavors are naturally extracted tobacco with no added sweeteners. The Special Blend line is a good place to start if you are new to Black Note.

What to avoid

  • Very thick, high-VG e-liquid in the 0.8Ω and 1.2Ω options, which can wick too slowly and give dry hits.
  • High-strength salt nicotine (30mg/mL and up) in the 0.3Ω and 0.4Ω options.
  • Heavily sweetened e-liquids if you want your pods to last.

Sweeteners are the most common reason a coil tastes burnt before its time, because they leave a sticky residue on the mesh. Black Note e-liquids contain no added sweeteners, which helps a pod keep its flavor for longer.

In the box (US version)

  • 1x Vaporesso Luxe X3 device
  • 1x Luxe X 0.6Ω Dual Mesh pod (fitted)

First-time setup

  1. Charge it: plug in the USB-C cable and charge to full, which takes about an hour.
  2. Fill the pod: lift out the pod, open the silicone plug on top, and fill to just below the max line. Close the plug firmly.
  3. Prime it: wait about five minutes so the mesh coil’s cotton is fully soaked before your first draw. Vaping a dry coil scorches it straight away.
  4. Turn it on: click the fire button five times. Smart mode sets the wattage when the pod goes in.
  5. Start low: take a few gentle puffs on the Smart mode setting, then raise the wattage in small steps if you want it warmer.
  6. Set the airflow: slide it closed for a tighter draw or open for a looser one.

Care, coil life and troubleshooting

How long do the pods last?

Coil life depends on your e-liquid, wattage and how much you vape. One owner review reports about three weeks of heavy use from a single pod. The signs a pod is done are a muted or burnt taste that does not come back after a refill, or darkened cotton you can see through the pod.

Everyday care

  • Wipe the pod’s contacts and the device’s contacts each time you refill.
  • Keep the pod at least a quarter full so the wick never runs dry.
  • Lower the wattage if a new pod tastes harsh. Most burnt pods were run too hot or vaped before they were primed.

Troubleshooting

  • Dry or burnt taste: stop, check the pod has e-liquid, and drop the wattage. A truly burnt pod will not recover, so replace it.
  • Gurgling or spitback: the pod is overfilled or you are drawing too hard. Wipe the mouthpiece and take gentler pulls.
  • Moisture at the base: wipe the pod base and contacts. A little condensation is normal on any pod system.
  • Pod not reading: remove it, wipe the contacts, and reseat it firmly.
  • Will not fire: check the lock switch on the base and the battery level.

Sweeteners are the most common reason a coil tastes burnt before its time, because they leave a sticky residue on the mesh. Black Note e-liquids contain no added sweeteners, which helps a pod keep its flavor for longer.

The good, the bad and the ugly

The good

  • 2600mAh battery, the largest in the Luxe X line, with 2A USB-C charging.
  • Real wattage control from 5W to 45W, kept within each pod’s rated range.
  • Fires by button or by draw, so it works for both habits.
  • 5mL top-fill pods mean fewer refills.
  • Huge compatibility: Luxe X pods plus Luxe XR pods with GTX coils from 0.3Ω to 1.2Ω.
  • Physical slide lock and a color-changing battery light.

The bad

  • About 100g and 22.8mm thick, so it is heavier and chunkier than slim pods.
  • The 0.8-inch screen is small and only shows wattage and battery.
  • Even fully closed, the airflow gives a fairly loose mouth to lung draw.
  • You cannot run a pod above its rated wattage, which keeps coils alive but limits experimenting.

The ugly

  • Specs vary between regions. UK versions use 2mL pods and some list different pods and lower wattage. Buy the US version if you want 5mL pods.
  • Vaporesso publishes very little official detail: no e-liquid guide, and listings disagree on charge time and on exactly what the lock disables.
  • Some retailers list 0.15Ω and 0.2Ω GTX coils as compatible, but they are rated for more power than the X3 is designed to deliver.

Luxe X3 compared with the Luxe X2

If you own a Luxe X2, the X3 is an upgrade in battery, power, screen and charging speed, not a new platform. Your Luxe X pods and GTX coils carry over. Here is the side-by-side.

Luxe X3 Luxe X2 What changed
Battery 2600mAh 2000mAh About 30 percent more
Maximum output 45W 40W More headroom for low-resistance coils
Display 0.8-inch screen Color light only You can now see your exact wattage
Charging USB-C, 5V/2A USB-C, 5V/1.5A Faster charging
Pods Luxe X pods, Luxe XR with GTX 0.3Ω to 1.2Ω Luxe X pods, Luxe XR with GTX 0.3Ω to 1.2Ω Same pods, so nothing is wasted
Pods in the box 0.6Ω and 0.4Ω Dual Mesh 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω The X3 kit leans toward a looser draw

Who should buy the Luxe X3, and who should skip it

Buy it if

  • You vape restricted lung or a loose mouth to lung draw and want to tune the wattage.
  • You want a battery that comfortably outlasts a small pod.
  • You already own Luxe X pods or GTX coils, or you like trying different coils.
  • You want the option of button firing as well as draw firing.

Skip it if

  • You want the lightest, simplest device with no settings. Look at the Eco Nano Plus.
  • You want a tight, cigarette-style draw. An XROS kit such as the XROS 5 Nano with a 0.8Ω or 1.2Ω pod is tighter.
  • You want a big screen with puff tracking.

Frequently asked questions

The Luxe X3 takes Luxe X pods, including Luxe X Corex 2.0 pods in 0.4Ω, 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω and the Dual Mesh pods from the kit. It also takes Luxe XR empty pods fitted with GTX coils from 0.3Ω to 1.2Ω.

Yes. You can fire the Luxe X3 by drawing on it or by pressing the fire button.

It depends on the pod and wattage. Listings claim three to five days of light use. One tester got two full days on the 0.6Ω pod at 22W to 28W, and heavier users report about a day. A full charge over USB-C takes about an hour.

Use 50/50 or salt nicotine in the 0.8Ω pod and higher-resistance coils, 50/50 in the 0.6Ω pod, and lower-nicotine 70/30 in the 0.4Ω pod and 0.3Ω or 0.4Ω GTX coils.

The Luxe X3 has a 2600mAh battery against 2000mAh, 45W against 40W, a 0.8-inch screen instead of a color light, and faster 2A charging. Both take the same Luxe X pods and GTX coils.

Editorial method and disclaimer

For adults 21 and older only. Nicotine is an addictive chemical. This article is educational and does not make medical or stopping-smoking claims. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for hardware and e-liquid. Specifications for the Vaporesso Luxe X3 were checked on November 4, 2026 against the Black Note GTX coil compatibility chart, US retailer listings, published third-party reviews and the live Black Note product page. Where sources disagreed we used the US version of the kit, and we left out any detail we could not confirm. Black Note has not completed an independent hands-on endurance test of this product, so battery life, coil life and leak figures in this review are the manufacturer’s claims or other reviewers’ reports, not our own measurements.
