I’ve been vaping this flavor for about a week now. My review is based both other brand tobacco flavors and three other BlackNote tobacco flavors I’ve tried. Prelude definitely has sweet overtones to it. The base flavor (which seems consistent with all BlackNote flavors) is a dry-leafy essence. From there, the discerning, will detect a variety of overtone and undertones. These are so well blended that they are consistent from one puff to the next. I also find that with most beverages I consume the flavor of the e-liquid is not affected. It’s tough to rate any of the BlackNote flavors since it depends on if you’re comparing each of the BlackNote flavors against each other or if you’re comparing them to other brands. Truly there’s no comparison, BlackNote is top-shelf; in a league of it’s own. All other brands of wannabe tobacco flavors often leave a bitter aftertaste in my mouth or have a coffee taste lurking in the mix. (I hate coffee). Thus, if compared to any other brand of e-liquid I would venture to say all of the BlackNote products would get five stars. The bottomline, each person’s palate and preference will vary, so the best way to truly know if you’ll like Prelude is to try it. Personally I like the sweeter flavors. This is a sweet yet mild tobacco flavor; not like candy sweet but just a nice warm, natural sweet.

I have been vaping for about 2 years now. For most of that time when ordering e juice I would often look for the lowest price. Until recently I thought all e juice was about the same. Was using a number of “tobacco flavored” juices as I can’t stand the tutti fruity usual juice. They all were too sweet and had a cloying taste. Enter Prelude. I’m Hooked!
As a 40 year smoker, I’ve been trying to switch to vaping for a few months. While some of the flavors I’ve tried are great, they just couldn’t replace my analog habit. I have tried as many of the tobacco “flavors” as I can find and all were disappointing. I’m not a pipe smoker and the cherry, vanilla and butterscotch flavor is not what I crave. I came across a review of Black Note on YouTube and searched every Vape shop in my area trying to find someone who carried the brand. Being a bit pricey, I just didn’t want to throw away 29.00 without at least a taste.
I finally bit the bullet and ordered on-line.
First, let me state that the Customer Service and packaging are phenomenal. But more importantly, from the first vape I’m hooked. The flavor is pure tobacco with just a slight sweetness in the finish. The tobacco flavor reminds me of a full flavor cigarette with just a bit more earthiness. My only real problem is that a cigarette is done in about 3 minutes and I’m having a hard time putting this down. I also received a sample of Sonata and I’m torn between calling one my favorite. Black Note just gained a new customer and Phillip J. Morris and company has lost one.

I received this as a freebie with my order. I loaded it up in my tank and took it out with me. I have a lot of cigarette smoking friends and they absolutely loved it. For me, I’m more of a cigar smoker so I like more of a full bodied flavor. Still, prelude was exactly what I was expecting it to be. OK – Prelude arrived today and I put it to the test (best I could). 3 aspire nautilus mini tanks, new 1.8 ohm coils, Isticks at 10.5w. 16-18 mg nic.. Halo Tribeca, Ginger’s Classy Tabacy and Black Note Prelude… Sweetest – Halo by far. Best natural sweetness Black Note. Ginger’s in the middle… Least Throat hit – Halo by far.. Ginger’s and Black Note moderate. Vapor production – all relatively the same – good. – Next step is to order some Sonata (but in 6 or 12 mg nic) to try and I have some Evo Dakota coming too for sport. Oh yeah – the most important part – Best Tobacco taste – Black Note by far, second Ginger’s, last Halo. I really like all 3 but the Black Note is the best. The 3 are sitting there now and I find myself reaching for the Prelude.

recommended to use a. 5 ohm spaced coil, freshly wicked with Ken do organic cotton, set at 22.5 watts. a good punch, slow juice use and perfect flavor, clean smooth light tobacco with a hint of sweetness on the exhale.
I have 5 more to try yet, but I’m certain this is a favorite.
I guarantee that if you still smoke and you try this for a few hours then go back to your cigarette of choice it will taste like s***!

No Turning Back
After receiving my notebook order to Australia in record time I started with the bottle of Prelude. What can I say, long time smoker 35 + years and this juice feels and tastes like I am having a real cigarette. I have tried many other juices nothing compares to this. Nice subtle flavor, nice mild throat hit and not too strong.I have been smoke free for 3 weeks now and just loving this juice. I was just about to give up and go back to smoking cigarettes until this arrived. The Prelude bottle is nearly empty and I will then try the other flavors in the notebook. Not too impressed
I have been looking for a vape experience that is as close to an american cigarette as possible, and had high hopes for Prelude, as it is described as a Virginia blend tobacco taste. However it didn’t meet my expectations. I found the flavor bland and nothing like cigarette tobacco flavor. and while it does have a slight tobacco flavor, there are other elements of the taste that take away from the overall experience. I cannot comment on any of the other Black Note flavors as this is the only one I have tried so far, but considering the cost it may be a while before I try another.

Prelude is definitely a good choice for an all day vape. It’s got a smooth mellow flavor and a nice mild throat hit. I’m currently using this with an Atlantis tank and a .4 ohm coil. My nicotine strength is .03% which gives me the nicotine I need to keep from reaching for a regular cigarette. I’m sticking at about 37 watts on my e-leaf i-stick. This combination brings me a good flavor and is never harsh at all. I got this as part of my Notebook order. I was hemming and hawing about buying the Notebook, so I was constantly reading reviews to see what I might like. Others have said that Prelude is like a light cigarette and they were right on with this. I’ll be ordering a bottle of this soon. I also mixed this with Legato at an 8-10 ratio and it was nice.

I love your products! I cannot say enough good things about it. However, the bottles do not lock and I have lost so much juice because of that. I have ‘leaked’ at LEAST a full bottle from all the bottles combined. Please fix this. Your juice is expensive. I have no problem with the price but when you lose one out of five bottles due to packaging issues, I do have a problem with that.

I was a tobacco connoisseur for over 20 years. I always hand-rolled my cigarettes, and one of my favorite tobaccos was Three Castles Virginian in the green tin. Finally an eliquid “tobacco”……
Prelude is definitely like smoking a cigarette without the dirty aftertaste and odor. From the first hit you can tell that this is a liquid tobacco and in a class of it’s own. The light smooth flavor of tobacco with a richness that cigarettes can’t deliver and I smoked for 45 years before switching to vaping. Most shops sell what I call a bathtub mixtures that are inconsistent with every bottle and who knows what you are buying. Prelude is consistent from bottle to bottle so you know what to expect when you fill your tank. I enjoy smoking it and will continue. Prelude – a great everyday juice
Received my second bottle of Prelude a couple of days ago. I’m now convinced it’s a great everyday vape. A lot of flavor, subtle and smooth, rich and sweet but bit not intense. It satisfies with every puff. If you are looking for great, real tobacco flavor Black Note is the best I’ve tried. The free samples of Bravura and Cadenza however presented a problem. They are both so tasty that after finishing both bottles I can’t decide which to buy next. I guess I’ll just have to get one of each.

I always liked my Virginia pipe tobaccos to have a sweet, bright, grassy characteristic and a slight spiciness; like good salsa. I had to use a device that channeled 5v to get the flavor, but it did perform. Less volts meant a dryer experience. It was kind of like Dunhill Virginia Flake. I am still experimenting to tease different dimensions from this blend, which speaks well of it.

If there is any better…
I have used vaping to quit smoking (32 years). The first month I used the tobacco flavor that was from the place where I purchased my Mod. It was ok but I knew something had to be out there that was more authenticate and less harsh so I started searching. I went through several brands the next month and it was hit and miss even on the same brand and type. A friend of mine gifted me the 30ml Black Note Prelude because he was quiting vaping which he used to quit smoking successfully. From the first puff to the last drop I could squeeze from the bottle it was like someone finally got it right. It was smooth rich authentic tobacco pull without the eye squinting harshness of the other brands. I had to order 2 more 30ml bottles and they threw in two other 7.5 ml samples as free gifts. When I got the box it was nothing but high end quality in every detail. I tried the Sonata sample and it was as good as the Prelude. I cannot wait to try the Adagio and the Bravura. If you want the real deal this is it. Blacknote thank you from a future ex Tobacco junkie if I can unhook myself from something even better than a real cigarette, but I can finally breath again while vaping! I drip this liquid on a rebuildable atomizer with a mechanical mod daily. I switched to a hemp wick/cotton after trying this liquid, in my opinion it holds the liquid much better than the other methods I was using. It changed the taste a lot at first which added a earthiness that has now subsided a lot (neither a pro or con I’m just getting used to it, but the only flavors I want to taste are blacknote’s) I’m enjoying this liquid and want to turn every drop into dense delicious vapor.

Holy Smokes!
I have to say after close to three years of vaping and searching for the closest tobacco flavor next to the real thing… The search is finally over! In fact, I was so taken back by it the first time I tried it, I almost felt guilty I was actually smoking a cigarette! I guess I should have gotten the Notebook to try out all the flavors but I went with the Prelude. The Prelude is a fine juice. I like the fact that I know I’m getting quality ejuice , naturally extracted and none of the chemicals I don’t know about that could be harmful. Packaging that the Prelude ejuice came with is top notch, so artistic, sort of like getting an Apple product. Taste is a little tart for me so I am deducting a star. Big nice cloud. I will be checking out another flavor or may be the Notebook.

Smooth tobacco falvor
I have been trying out different tobacco flavor from my local vapor store but those dint work out well. Always got some sweet with no tobacco feel. But today when I received my first Prelude and tried, Its in one word just awesome!!!! nothing compares with it.

I’ve tried a few of the thousands of brands out there and not a single one was helping me to stop smoking. I see people all over the place using vaporizers and they swear by them but for me it was no help. I then found this and thought I should give it a try. I am impressed. I’ve only had it two days and it is helping me. I was not crazy about fruity liquids at all and these are the closest thing to smoking I’ve found yet. The fact that they are not full of unknown chemicals is a huge bonus. I highly recommend this to anyone that really wants help to stop smoking for good. One other note (no pun intended) the person that recommended this brand said right up front it might take a week or so for your taste buds to recover from cigarettes so you may not ‘taste’ anything at first. I have found that to be true. I don’t really taste this yet but it feels like a cigarette.

Prelude, like all Black Note eliquids, is very high quality, and easily makes it into my top four favorites from their line. The best way to describe it is that it does have a slight sweetness and slight spice flavor to it, almost an exotic flavor, maybe reminiscent of a fine Mediterranean or Middle Eastern tobacco.
Legato does still remain my favorite though—it does miss the mark a bit, but is the closest thing to an American tobacco that I have come across. I know this is wishful thinking, but I do wish Black Note would come out with a purely American tobacco blend eliquid. Maybe they could find out where Marlboro gets their tobacco from and create a new N.E.T. extracted from Marlboro tobacco leaves. They would make a fortune!
For those interested: I have been experimenting with Black Note eliquids a bit, trying them on different devices, and have found that it makes a big difference what type of device I vape them on—for how they taste and how close they can get to the experience of smoking a real cigarette. With the liquids being a 50/50 PG/VG, I have found them to have too strong of flavor on RDA’s and subohm tanks. Even the Joyetech Ego AIO produces too strong of flavor. With the Nautilus Mini having a small single vertical coil and limited airflow—the flavor is too weak. Now, take the Innokin Endura T18 with dual horizontal coils, regulated 14 watts, filled with Legato, and this comes really close, flavor wise and vapor production wise, to smoking a Marlboro cigarette!

The Black Note product line is arguably the most significant development in the world of vapor. Artificial flavors cannot compare to smoking authentic tobacco leaves. These products are so remarkable that they can only be compared to one another and to actually smoking cigarette, cigar, or pipe tobacco. This is not “e-liquid.” No artificial flavors are evident including the PG/VG.
Prelude is smooth, buttery, and faintly sweet with Longjing tea undertones. Compared to the other 7, it is mild, a little less pronounced, and very amenable to mixing with other flavors, such as Legato (to add structure) or Solo (to add complexity). Not meant as a criticism, it is the “Vanilla” of the line up, probably the most adaptable and most straight-forward. Compared to other artificial e-liquids, all 8 would score a 5. Compared to the other 7 items in the Notebook, I would score it a 4.

i tried many times to quit smoking and got into vaping. Most tobacco juices are just horrible and taste artificial, but if you are a smoker, you want to have your tobacco flavour with a beer or a coffee. Strawberry juices wont do it.
So i found blacknote, ordered, and waited excited like a child before christmas. It arrived 30 minutes ago and it is absolutely amazing!
My expectations were so high that i was afraid to get disappointed, but i didn’t!
I just wish blocknote had a distributor in europe because i live in austria and need to stock up 😀

I started vaping 3 months ago as an alternative to smoking. Like many others that found Black Note, I was looking for an e-juice that could replicate a cigarette. I wasn’t interested in weird fruity/nutty/sweet flavors. I scoured numerous forums looking for suppliers that made good tobacco juices, and would order upwards of 20 different juices at a time in hopes of finding one that was halfway decent. In total, I tried well over 100 and didn’t enjoy a single one. They all had varied tastes with a variety of flavors, but not one had even a hint of tobacco. What a waste of time and money.
Enter Black Note. I recently received the Notebook and have so far only tried Prelude. I’m already hooked. While there may very well be a Black Note flavor I will enjoy more, I would be perfectly content if Prelude was the company’s only offering. Prelude is the first juice I’ve vaped that hasn’t left me craving a cigarette afterwards. The experience (flavor/throat hit/exhale) is remarkably similar to smoking a Marlboro Light, and perhaps even more enjoyable.
From this point forward I will undoubtedly be vaping Black Note products exclusively. As far as I’m concerned, their product is perfection and everything I had ever hoped vaping would be. I just wish I had found them sooner.

Prelude is the lightest of all of the flavors in my opinion. I have sampled all of them through the Notebook, and Prelude was my first 30 ml bottle order. It is a light tobacco flavor in which I can actually taste the leaves in the vapor. Prelude is the liquid that sold me on the fact that Black Note liquid is truly made from actual tobacco and not imitation flavors.For those who have yet to try Black Note liquid, I think it is important to know that the liquids don’t taste like cigarettes; they taste like tobacco. Amazing Product
It’s great to have finally found an E-Liquid that I can feel like a man while I’m vaping it. The only tobacco flavored ones I’ve been able to find always had some caramel or vanilla additive. So it was hard for me to transition from smoking cigarettes to vaping because of the flavoring. But with the Black Note it actually tastes like tobacco. I got some Prelude for my GF as she is trying to quit. I just love tobacco flavor so I tried some and wow! I will be getting myself some now to go along with my Black Note Adagio.
