I bought the Notebook. I started by vaping the flavors I thought I’d like the least. This was #1 on my list, based on Black Note’s description. I have been using new cotton wicks before trying a new flavor to give each flavor a fair shake. When I smoked cigarettes I never liked the menthol flavor. This juice seemed to be more of a natural and less of a chemical taste. I could see someone who had smoked menthol cigarettes possibly enjoying this flavor. It’s just not for me though.

I reviewed BN’s Menthol offering in early 2019. My assessment remains the same: it is hands-down first rate. I was never a menthol cigarette fan and very rarely used them, but I regularly use BN’s Menthol as an addition to all of BN’s other blends, especially the more robust offerings like Cigarette and Cigar (Cigar being modestly robust and always in my BN rotation). I find that 1 to 3 parts Menthol add a very pleasant, mild, minty coolness to all of BN’s blends.
Now to the main point of this review.
I like BN’s new packaging: the 10ml plastic bottles are a great idea. It allows the vaper to precisely combine different nicotine levels to achieve a preferred nicotine level. My preference is one 12 mg/ml and one 6 mg/ml which yields 9 mg/ml…the perfect nicotine balance for me. I look forward to BN’s offering the same packaging option for the V line.

I got the plastic 10ml bottles this time around and have mixed feelings on them – on the positive, I like the filler tip, the fact they are light weight and small. They fit much better into any bag/purse that I may use. I also don’t have to worry about breakage if I accidentally drop them.
The down side is it is difficult for me to fill the bottle because the bottle is stiff and not easy for me to squeeze. And the childproof cap ratcheting on the inside is not sturdy enough to do the press & turn to open it, so I had to pry/pull off the over-cap in order to be able to open and close the bottles. Though perhaps this is what you are suppose to do???
Still, I am very please with Black Note!!

As a pipe smoker I am not a menthol fan and thus not a big fan of Solo. It does have a mellow mint taste that mixes well with the tobacco. I have to admit it is a bit refreshing and might be suitable for an occasional change.
