I recently started vaping to get off of cigarettes. A buddy of mine gave me a taste of his Blacknote Solo.. WOW. I’ve tried menthol vapes before, and honestly didn’t care for any of them, but this is much more smooth and has a clear crisp tobacco taste like a real cigarette, not a sweet minty blah like so many other menthol juices. Not for me, but……
Once again Black Note has knocked it out of the park with complexity and flavor. So I have to give it 5 stars. However, I’ve discovered that I just don’t like menthol anymore. I smoked menthol cigarettes on occasion in the past, but only the higher end brands with more natural flavors, and if you are into those, then this will not disappoint. The menthol is very dominant mint, but pure and natural tasting (as opposed to “artificial”). Then on the back end is a very earthy tonacco with a touch of sweetness. Like I said, not for me anymore, and initially I wasn’t really interested in vaping any more of it after my first tank, the menthol was just too overwhelming, but guess what? It grew on me and I finished the whole bottle. Go figure….If you like a good menthol then you’ll love this. I’ve seen some reviewers compare them to leading brands such as Newport etc., but I kind of disagree. I always found those to feel and taste synthetic whereas with the Solo, the taste is very natural. Organic……Last note, as I’ve said before, these liquids are very kind to coils and wicks, so expect a little longer life out of them.

Solo is the only menthol flavor I can vape. It has a light mint cooling flavor that’s not overwhelming. I tend to go to this flavor when I start to experience vapers tongue/fatigue to get things back on track again. Works every time for me.

First of all, I’m not a menthol fan. Well until I tried this one. In 47 years of smoking I never went near menthol: couldn’t stand it. Tried blending some Apollo pure menthol liquid with some of their tobacco flavours but couldn’t find anything that I liked there either. So I had no expectation of Solo. But based on the sample in the Notebook, I actually liked it. Wow!

Better Than the Real Thing
Let me start off by saying, I’ve never been a fan of menthol cigarettes. Something about them always made me feel like they were doing more harm than a regular cigarette. If I was ever smoking a menthol, it meant that I was too drunk to care, and so I have always associated menthol with hangovers and bad decisions.
I’ve never tasted a menthol juice that managed to replicate the duel sensation of a pleasant tingle with a realistic tobacco taste. Given I have not tried many, because I hate menthol.

This is not my favorite flavor from Black Note; it can’t be because I hate menthol. BUT to me this is the most impressive accomplishment. Anyone can make a real-tasting tobacco juice (obvious joke), but it takes a stroke of genius to make someone who has forever feared menthol cigarettes due to the impending hangovers which followed… like it. WOW!!

I vaped 3mg on 25W Aspire Atlantis .5ohms. I was really hesitant to try this. It was actually the last one I tried. But it’s really not like other menthol ejuices. Burley tobacco is probably my favorite, and this is just a hint a mint. I actually like the flavor that lingers. Waaay smoother than nother menthols that burn your throat after a while and leave your ears and throat sore for days. It was nothing like that for me, Smooth enough for all day, but I have to say I’m still stuck on 4 other Blacknote juices that I just prefer better. But that’s just me, Even though mints aren’t my cup of tea, I still give them 5 stars because it’s an excellent product.

The best menthol out there
I used to smoke menthols occasionally, and have tried other menthol e-juices that try to replicate this flavor. Many other menthol e-juices have a very fake chemical taste to them. But Solo captures the tobacco flavor mixed with the menthol very well. It doesn’t have the strong bitter cough-drop flavor like many menthols, but is more like a natural real mint flavor. I enjoy the mint, and it really adds nicely to the throat hit as well. It reminds me of the Natural American Spirit Menthol as opposed to something less natural like Newports. Of all the menthol juices I’ve ever tried, this is by far the best one.

Solo – Wine Tasting Experience by Black Note
Black Note has produced some of the finest e-liquid on the market. I do vape some of the sweet juices because they are the most common thing out there. I had been looking for something like this for a long time and Black Note came through. Do not expect to get you typical “tobacco flavored” juice. In my opinion, those do not taste like tobacco. If you are looking for a “cigarette flavor”, you will not get that from Black Note. What you will get is an experience similar to a wine tasting. After vaping all of these for several weeks, I figured out exactly how I like to set up my equipment to achieve the maximum flavor notes. Prior to reviewing this, I will let you know how I set up my mod. This set up may sound crazy, but I use this: I do a single coil 15 wrap 26 awg build. This is a 1.9 ohm build and I vape that at 17 watts. This may sound strange, but I have gotten my best flavor from this set up. If you are looking to blow clouds with this, then Black Note probably isn’t the best liquid. The Black Note line is a more enjoyable, fine flavored, relaxing vape that makes you feel like you are sitting in a leather chair in a room with the lights lowered and a glass of fine whiskey in one hand and your mod in another.
Solo:
Is definitely a menthol flavor. This is not like the menthol flavoring that you are used to in regular e-liquid. This has an authentic mint flavor that will not overpower the flavor of the underlying tobacco. The subtle mint flavor arises on exhale and is a very satisfying cool to almost icy feeling. without questions, the best menthol e-liquid I have ever used.

I had tried one of the other Black Note products and decided to buy a sample of some random liquids using the logic: I wanna try it all! Thus I found myself holding a bottle of menthol liquid and putting it in my tank. Admittedly, I was sceptical. When I sude to smoke I never enjoyed menthols. However, I was pleasently surprised. The Solo has the same qualities as the other BN liquids I have sampled thus far and the menthol aspect is “quite gentle”. That is: The menthol is clearly present in the throat hit, but it’s not overpowering. Actually the menthol aspect is more clear in the aftertaste, than the actual throat hit. In my book that’s a quality. The tobacco notes aren’t overwhelming either, but definately authentic and pose roughly about 2/3 of the total sensation, at least in my subjective experience. If you used to like menthol cigarettes, this is a solid bet. If you’re flirting with the idea of vaping menthol, this is definately worth trying. It’s great when you feel that you’re closing in on that occasional vape-OD.

As I sit here currently exhaling a wonderful menthol vape I am confused. Confused because I am enjoying it SO SO much. I never smoked menthols.. I’ve tried menthol based juices before and they are nowhere near my “thing”. This one is special. This one is different. When I received my first notebook (im now on number 3) I simply admired Solo, smelled it, thought ehh probably not for me and put it aside. Man, was I wrong. Its wonderful. My husband is a fan of your Sonata e-liquid and a light smoker and we both started vaping earlier this year. I was never a smoker and really had no interest in tobacco flavors of vape juice. This was the last juice I tried from my note book. I smoked regular cigarettes and menthol cigarettes in the past so I can be a fairly good judge of menthols and non’s. Solo is very realistic to a menthol cigarette and is not overpowering in any sense. I have tried other menthol juices that have all the chemical additives and they are not even close to Solo. Although I now don’t prefer menthol’s, this was a real taste treat! It was like a Newport with just a tad more of a mint finish. Very smooth and pleasurable!!

The Real Deal!
This little liquid is the closest to a menthol cigarette one can get to. I’ve tried many other brands of menthol liquids. Black Note Solo is the ONLY one I’ve tried that doesn’t taste like mouthwash or mint candy or toothpaste. It tastes and feels like a menthol cigarette without all the toxins. I like most of Black Note’s liquids, but this, as a former menthol cigarette smoker, is my very favorite.

Excellent Menthol Flavor
This is the closest thing to a menthol cigarette I ever tried. The menthol isn’t overpowering but just a refreshing taste of mint. The tobacco doesn’t dominate but instead becomes a nice flavor that provides gives a great finish to the draw of vapor. The only bad part is how hard it is to put it down. This is definitely a eliquid that you could do every day.

Only menthol vape I will use
I am on my 4th bottle of Solo, Its is like a staple for me and I use is everyday as my morning and travel Vape. The menthol is prominent, but you get the tobacco on every vape. Both a very well balanced and don’t overpower each other. The juice is consistent between batches so you get a predictable Vape. The coils last longer and with minimum to no gunk factor. I use 6mg with Kayfun4 and Ti wire.

I was hesitant to purchase another high end juice and be disappointed, but now it’s my everyday vape. Ok so Im out of all my favorite juices and I find Solo still in the Notebook box unopened. I wasnt going to try it, I didnt smoke menthol cigs and figured I wouldnt like this either. Well I gave it a try. Wow, its pretty good. Tastes like a cool mint to me which I guess menthol smokers would say is menthol. Id say I like it more than a couple of the regular tobacco notes. For me this isnt a tobacco vape but a clean mint taste. All these blends just have such a clean natural taste to them. This one is no different. I might even order this again just for something different when I dont feel like vaping tobacco flavored juices.

Although I am not a big fan of Menthol, Solo won me over with its Smooth, Minty Tobacco Taste! Strong menthol
This one was the last in the line-up I tried because I’m not a big fan of menthol liquids. That being said, I have however tried a few before. I find the menthol a little too strong on this one. In my opinion it should be half as strong, since every other Black Note flavor is very very subtle, and that is one of the reasons I love Black Note. So this one is a bit too much for me. But if you enjoy menthol cigarettes then you’ll love solo 🙂

I used to smoke menthol cigs back in the day but have been on the pipe tobacco for years. With that being said this should not be in my wheelhouse. Surprisingly I like to vape this between changing flavors to kind of cleanse the palate. It is also a good change up every once and a while. The minty flavor to me is pretty strong but it is a clean non-artificial taste. The subtle tobacco comes through at the end leaving a pleasant aftertaste. This would not be my all day vape but serious menthol smokers may enjoy this one.

Great Menthol Type Liquid
Been a menthol smoker for years and I’ve tried all the liquids out there trying to find something similar. Most are like smoking vicks vapor rub, but Black Note is a nice smooth minty flavor.

Perfect for menthol lovers
I am not a fan of menthol e juices but i liked it very much because it’s completely different from other menthol e juices which are available in the market, In general most of the menthol e liquids will not taste like a real mix of menthol and tobacco but this one does the job it has the proper blend of tobacco and menthol in right proportions and please don’t expect very strong menthol flavour. Trust me even non menthol smoker will love this. One of my friends(Core menthol cig smoker) tried this ejuice from my notebook and he loved it very much and rated 10 on the scale of 10. Friends, please go for the notebook first and then decide which e juice is perfect for your taste and then go for large quantities. Trust me you gonna love all eight, thanks to blacknote for introducing proper tobacco e juices and thanks to my friend who gave this wonderful notebook as a gift.

Menthol
This is straight up menthol, simple as that. But like another review said, it is more of a spearmint or green leaf mint than Vicks vapor rub menthol. I hate menthol cigarettes but I love solo. It doesn’t have a chemical menthol flavor, but is completely natural, like eating a mint leaf. After exhaling there is a slight note of sweet tobacco (prelude?) in the background that lingers after the mint has disappeared. Extremely refreshing, I vape this every day but not all day.

An authentic and well-crafted vape
Not having been a regular user of menthol tobacco back when I was smoking my expectations weren’t exactly high as to whether I would initially like this flavour or find myself getting into it. However I can report being pleasantly surprised! I find that the Solo is an effective combination of earthy tobacco which gives the flavour a “solid” full-tasting base, combined with a menthol flavour which is powerfully refreshing, especially on the exhale. I would particularly recommend this vape for those cold winter months, perhaps even if you’re feeling a bit under the weather it will certainly give your nose and throat a “cleared” sensation! The authentic-tasting menthol is a quality part of the overall character of the liquid and not at all “spear-minty” or overly-sweet tasting. My favourite thing about this e-liquid is the way the flavour unfolds on the inhale and exhale, you get the full blend of both flavours on the inhale, a menthol blast of flavour on the exhale and a deliciously realistic tobacco aftertaste. A well-crafted vaping rendition of the menthol tobacco experience!

Very nice
Let me first say that I have never been a menthol smoker. I included solo as part of my first order just to try something different. I was so shocked at how good this juice tasted and vaped. It quickly became my all day vape. The menthol that is used is a lot different then say a Newport cigarette or a Marlboro. It adds such a great taste and cooling sensation. When I started vaping I used imitation tobacco blends because that was all that seemed to be available. None could stand up to the quality or flavor of Blacknote. I then moved into the fruit flavor blends, now don’t get me wrong, I still enjoy some strawberry cheesecake every now and then. But blacknotes tobacco blends are so good that it’s hard for me to go back. Blacknote as a company has been phenomenal. There customer service is by far the best I have ever dealt with. Emails are answerd quickly and by a real live person. No auto-replies here!!

perfect blend of tobacco and menthol
Received my .3 Nic Sonata in 4 days. A former cigarette smoker and even the .3 was too harsh for me. Called them up and requested 0 Nic Solo instead for replacement. No BS given to provide replacement. Got the solo in 3 days. Flavor was awesome. The blend of menthol and tobacco was perfect for me. I wish all eliquid suppliers were as honest with their advertising as Black Note. Packaging was very classy and with their recycling program, no other company even comes close.

Black Notes description is exactly as stated for anyone who was a former menthol analog smoker. This is yet another Great product by Black Note, but it is not for me personally, since I never really enjoyed any type of menthol smoke. For those that do? Surprising and refreshing.
Full disclosure: I was never a Menthol smoker and really never cared for it in cigarettes. With that said I tried this flavor last for that fact. I wish I would have tried it sooner. There’s something about menthol that lends itself better to vaping. The cool tingle just kind of enhances everything about the experience. It also seems exceptionally well to keep a tank of this on hand to sort of refresh your tastebuds from time to time.

Absolute heaven!
I started out as a menthol smoker, but switched to regular tobacco after only a few years. Out of all the menthol cigarettes I tried, Marlboro Smooths were my favorite. The menthol flavor in Solo by Black Note seems to be a perfectly balanced combination of Marlboro Smooths and a peppermint candy, without being harsh or too sweet. The throat hit is fantastic, but not overbearing; this could still be an all day vape. Out of the four Black Note blends I’ve tried from the Notebook so far, this is certainly my favorite, and I’ll definitely be purchasing a 30 ml bottle.

i can’t stand menthol flavors as they are always very overpowering and mute anything else that should be taking the ride with it. since it came in the note book i figured i’d give it a go. it’s actually very good just not for me. you can taste the tobacco which is smooth and in front with a light mint that comes in after and lingers for awhile.

Not Menthol But Mint
When I got the variety pack, the only flavor I was leery of trying was Solo. When I was a smoker years ago, I could not stand menthol cigarettes. They tasted harsh, and gave me a headache if I smoked very many in a row. When I read the description of Solo, I was pretty sure I wouldn’t care for it. Well, I finally bit the bullet and tried it, and wow, was I wrong. The flavor that comes through is a clean, minty flavor. Most definitely not the menthol I had stored in my aging memory. This clean minty taste with a hint of tobacco is the most refreshing vape you can imagine. I kind of figured I would only use it when I had a cold or when the sinus’s were kicking up. Wrong again. I vape this on a daily basis, and really enjoy it. If you are on the fence about menthol, but love spearmint, try Solo. You will be happy you did. Very nice product.

I know the description of this liquid is menthol, but I get a Strong mint. It is extremely clean, crisp and refreshing. Because of the nature of menthol/mint, you cannot taste the tobacco base. Solo does not completely dull the taste buds like menthol flavors can. Not a flavor profile I would vape regularly, but would greatly appeal to a mint fanatic. I vaped solo with a kanger tech t3s with a 2.5 ohm wick. I have tried so many menthol and mint vapes from all kinds of companies. Many too minty, too much aftertaste, and too much coughing. Trust me this is the bomb. Nice smooth throat hit, subtle hint of menthol on the inhale, and smooth on the exhale. Leaves just a slight bit of menthol/ cooling in the mouth and throat. The menthol i’ve been looking for!
I started vaping 2 years ago. Before i started vaping i was smoking menthol cigarettes and using chewing tobacco (often at the same time), the day i started vaping i quit both chew’ and cigarettes. This is the best menthol e-liquid available. The menthol is not overpowering and doesn’t taste chemically like other menthol liquids.
