I’ve tried several brands of E-Liquid and Blacknote brand Solo is the only brand that does not irritate my throat. Since I smoke menthol cigarettes I therefore use only menthol e-liquid. So that I’ll have that kick as if I’ve smoked a cigarette. So far, I’ve totally quit smoking regular cigarettes after I started using Solo. Using other e-liquid brands they tend to irritate my throat so bad I always ended up going back smoking cigarettes instead. I first tried 0.3% nicotine but it was somewhat too weak for me. Went up first to 0.6% then to 1.2%. Found out 0.6% is just right for me. The only thing I look forward to is Blacknote would make menthol flavor a bit stronger.

As an ex menthol smoker, I really wanted to love Solo. But at the end of the day, the mint was just too much for me. Maybe its my vape rig, but I just couldn’t find the tobacco flavor in this one. I also quit smoking menthols years ago. So, for that reason, I don’t think I am their target audience. Give it a shot if you love menthol because the mint flavor is definitely true. But a little much for me as I lean toward the spicier, less sweet flavors. Just not my bag.

Nat Sherman Mint
Nat Sherman produced a mint flavored cigarette in their “Classic ” line years ago, this is that. Both Nat Sherman and Black Note did this very well; its just not my cup of tea on the regular. Smooth Menthol Heaven
As being a mostly menthol smoker I was worried about finding a quality menthol liquid. I was thrilled when I saw so many review sites were recommending Black Note as the best place to find menthol liquid. This did not disappoint. It’s very important to find the right nicotine balance. For me the 1.2 was perfect combination of smoothness, taste & throat hit.

Better than Marlboro Menthol
I traded smoking for vaping a year ago, after 40+ years of heavy smoking. Though I was determined to stay away from cigarettes, especially because of the very noticeable health/living benefits I was getting, I struggled with finding an e-juice that was genuinely satisfying. I usually don’t do too many reviews but I have to for this product to help reassure people that are in doubt. I have to say I was a little skeptic and had my own doubts. I recently started vaping a month ago and have tried different “Newport Clone” juices. After smoking the same brand for 24 years no other cigarette or substitute could compare. A friend of mine let me try his vapor and I was blown away when he mentioned “Black Note” is the best brand for cigarette smokers and further explained to me why which led me to the abundance of detailed information on this website about the process of making this liquid very helpful. I AM EXTREMELY IMPRESSED and thankful for this product. Originally I wasn’t sure if it would be way too minty so I ordered the prelude along with solo to mix if need be also I was recommended to order .6% nicotine which I did and later tried .12%. I have to say no need for any other juices to compare SOLO .6% is my cigarette replacement and I haven’t smoked or had a desire too for weeks now. The delivery is fast and free so no need to freak out if you’re running low and scared you might end up buying a pack of cigarettes eventually. Customer service is great they really cater to your needs and preferences without hassle and the reward points are great too. If you like to smoke menthols, then this is it. It is as close to menthol cigs you will get with vaping. The menthol is true and on point. It is not minty and it is not sweet. It is true menthol. The tobacco is like other tobacco flavors, I think its prelude with menthol added to it. All in all the absolutely best menthol tobacco flavor out there! Leave your mouth nice and refreshed. The macerated mint leaf adds a fine twist
Virginia and menthol, the twist being that they apparently did the same maceration process on spearmint or peppermint (description says “natural menthol oils” i’m not a big menthol guy so I can’t tell but its definitely not normal artifical menthol) . I’ve heard of people doing extractions with actual mint before but never tasted it.
Very cooling on the inhale but it didn’t make me want to cough like over mentholated artificial ejuice. Can barely make out the virginia on exhale – reminds me of those marlbloro smooths so maybe it is spearmint? – mouth feels like I just had altoid or something , you could vape this to freshen your breath for hot dates.
Deeper fuller hit , definitely taste the virginia blended in here. So yeh if you smoked menthol cigarettes this would probably be right up your alley.

Lovin’ the menthol
The price for Black Note is a bit dear to me as I don’t have much disposable income. I took a chance that this would be above the norm and, with any luck, bordering on the superb. Well, I was not disappointed. Straight out of the bottle and with the first hit I was like, “OMG!!!” I was over-the-top pleased. I was a menthol smoker for 25+ years, (not that I’m proud of it) and have been smoke free for 2 months now. I love this liquid so much. That said and even for someone who loves menthol as much as I do, this is a bit much so I’ve ordered some Adagio to cut in with it. Still, all told an amazing taste experience. Worth every penny!

Great blend to mix it up
Making my way through Notebook, I was surprised to find myself enjoying Solo so much. The mint has depth and real flavor – it’s obvious it’s natural. I decided to give myself another chance, and quit cigarettes completely as of my birthday 2 weeks ago. I’ve got a vape (yes, technically smoking – but I’m weening myself off after ten years) and I could not recommend this liquid with any lower rating than 1 trillion/1 trillion. Rich, intense but smooth menthol flavor
Solo has a rich, intense but smooth menthol flavor that is most enjoyable mixed with Prelude or Forte. The effect is stunning, and goes superbly with coffee. The mint flavor matches wonderfully with the natural sweetness of the tobacco and chocolate undertones of good espresso. This is not really a tobacco flavor, of course, but is superb for what it is. I would rate it a 5 as a menthol flavored item, not directly comparable to unflavored tobacco. Remarkably, there is not artifice. Solo is entirely pure, smooth, and authentic.

Favorite change of pace.
Solo is a great change of pace ,refreshing minty menthol flavor to fall back on when I want to change it up a little. There is never a harsh menthol bite just a soothing delicious vape. As with all of the Black Note flavor’s I find the best and most rewarding taste is at lower wattage 10 to 20 watts I have never used a dripper with Black Note so I cant say how that is, But I never want to waste a precious drop

Not a menthol fan, but…
As the review summary states, in full disclosure, I am NOT a fan of mentholated tobacco. And I will also state from the get-go that I would and will NEVER personally order this blend for myself.
However, my friend is (or was) a menthol smoker. And when I turned him on to vaping (and simultaneously Blacknote), he naturally ordered a bottle of the solo. So the one BlackNote blend I figured I’d never get to try, well, I ended up getting to try.
Let me re-iterate, I do note like menthols. And the menthol in this blend is VERY strong (my friend’s comment was “It’s like sucking on a candy cane”). HOWEVER…I found this blend tolerable. Perhaps even enjoyable, though I couldn’t see myself vaping it on any sort of regular basis. Having now tried ALL of BlackNote’s blends (including the newly released Quartet), I will state that without a doubt, I enjoyed this blend the least, not at all unexpectedly. And still, it gets a 3 from me. If you have never tried BlackNote before, and this is the first review you are reading of an e-juice from them, I think that just about says it all about the quality of product you will get from these guys.

Solo is bottom of the list for me. Its easy to tell it is high quality(as all blacknote flavors are) just not my flavor. Have been sprinkling a few drop in a tank here and there. Nice little twist now and again. Once again though Black note is A+. If you like menthols and are trying to quit smoking SOLO. 62 days no smoking thanks to blacknote. Never made it past 15 days with cheap tobacco wannabe liquid.

Solo is Fresh “Menth” or Mint, a Bit Sweeter Than Menthol Cigarettes
My point of reference for this E-liquid are tobacco cigarettes & pipe tobacco. I’m not a cheap cigarette-guy, and my menthols were American Spirit Menthol Full-Bodied Organics (dark green, not light green) & Nat Sherman Naturals Menthol. Both have their own websites. Solo, from Black Note, is a genuine menthol tobacco E-liquid. Unfortunately, from my perspective, the bright leaf tobacco flavor overpowers the menthol flavor–a bit too sweet as with all Black Note flavors–though there still is that fresh exhale & buttery tobacco scent. Furthermore, the scent isn’t of burnt tobacco but tobacco leaves–as with all Black Note flavors by my experience. I would prefer a burnt more aromatic scent, as all of Black Note’s flavors tend to smell similar on exhale. Regardless, this, Solo, as with Black Note as a whole, is one of my favorite tobacco E-liquids. I’ve vaped this on my 7wrap x 4coil Stainless Steel (SS) 316L alloy rebuildable deck atomizer (RDA) with organic Japanese cotton all of the way up to 200W at 0.15Ohms. The liquid, due to temperature control (TC), never burns, though on 0.05Ohms the liquid does a bit. I don’t recommend this E-liquid with Ni200 due to residual flavor from the Nickel. The VG/PG ratio makes this good for either RDA or rebuildable tank atomizer (RTA). Not too strong, a bit too sweet, but still minty fresh on inhale & exhale. It’s worth a try, even if one doesn’t normally enjoy menthol.

I am not traditionally a menthol fan but this really surprised me. I got some Solo from Black Note as a gift (thanks guys!) and I was lucky to get it in a low nic level because I chose to direct vape it due to the menthol. Solo is pretty amazing. It isn’t like a menthol tobacco to me but what one should be. All the refreshing cool menthol taste without the yuck. For a juice named Alone it is very social. Solo had more menthol than I desired. With the right amount of Cadenza, which I added by accident I vaped an earthy, flavorful menthol which I like very much. As a former smoker of ‘kool’ cigarettes I was dying for an authentic menthol tobacco flavor. Naturally I jumped on Black Note: Solo.
I found the menthol a bit too over powering of the tobacco flavor, thus not an authentic analog menthol cigarette taste.
How ever, refusing to give up on this amazing company, I ordered ‘Sonata’ and added three drops of ‘Solo’ to my 4ml tank (Kanger Subox starter kit) and frankly; WOW!!!!

Excellent Product
My girlfriend and I had been vaping for about 6 months before we found black note. We were looking to find a quality product that we knew wouldn’t include many of the chemical products you hear warnings about. Smooth and Refreshing
I received a 7.5ml sample of this juice as a part of another order. I never would have tried this juice on my own, as I do not like most “minty” things. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by this juice, as it is of the same quality as every other juice Black Note sells. I guess good quality and a natural mint flavor makes even someone like me who doesn’t normally like mint appreciate this juice. I doubt it will be my favorite from Black Note, but that doesn’t mean it is bad. If you smoked menthols, then you’ll love this juice. Heck, try it even if you didn’t smoke them, I bet you’ll still like it!

Solo Nice Menthol
Solo Review: This is a nice menthol blend. I have tried 24mg and 18mg. This liquid vapes nice out of a sub-ohm tanks. This would have received 5 Stars but….. There is only one menthol flavor, A light or a smooth blend would be nice. The menthol is definitely not lacking in the least. I also don’t think i get any extra life out of my coils. And i would like to see a higher VG blend offered. With that being said overall Solo by blacknote is pretty good.

Great quality, a personal con
Delivery is fast, packaging is really nice, if not overkill, and $29 a bottle is a tad high. However, Solo @ 12mg nic was by far the cleanest juice I have ever placed in any of my tanks. Ran 1 coil through all 30ml, and barely a hint of gunk or char on my coil. Cotton the same, stayed the same color throughout, never darker. Smooth, no aftertaste, solid juice all around, menthol wasn’t overbearing, except one thing. Being a 50/50 blend I was leery, most 50/50’s have aftertaste issues or just don’t feel right, as a 70pg/30vg or higher vaper, 50/50 isn’t my go to, ever. This was not the case here. I wish the vapor was heavier. Cigarette smoke has a certain weight or feeling of denseness to it, I feel it fell slightly short for me personally. As great and as clean as it tastes, and I also understand that going higher in vg could very mess up the flavor, or lighten it, a denser vapor would be more satisfying. Would I order this juice again? Yes. It was a great juice and I honestly can’t believe how clean it is, that in itself is an achievement. Good job to Black Note.

I’m not a fan of menthol and I waited till I ran out of other juices before I tried it and it’s not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Actually pretty pleased with it. Would not be an all day vape for me, but a good taste once in a while.

I switch to vape over a year ago, tried all sorts of tobacco flavors most tasted like coffee/pastry to literal ashtray ie: NOT good then tried menthol (i like mint) who doesn’t but vaping flavors like mint black coffee or worse Vic’s flavored ice cube just wasn’t cutting it. So i tried black note solo and wow it’s better then i could have hoped. I finally found it, the one, my go to vape and i can’t thank you enough please keep up the good work.

Best Menthol Facsimile
As with many of the reviewers, I’m not a big fan of menthol cigarettes (not much of a cigarette smoker at all, in the interest of full disclosure – my smoking is mainly confined to pipe tobacco and cigars). I’ve tried a couple of other e-cig menthols and find them to taste like either mint candy or Vick’s Vapo-rub. Solo, however, is pretty much exactly like a menthol cigarette, so for that I give it 4 stars.

Now let me start off by saying I’m not a fan of Menthol. My first order from black notes d the notebook as I wanted to sample all of them. So I was a little hesitant about vaping solo. Wow I must say I was very impressed! The mint was subtle enough that it didn’t make me feel sick like other menthols would have! As a non menthol smoker, but the wife is, I would hate it when I accidentally lit up one of hers. For me Menthol seemed like candy and I would need a cigarette after smoking an after dinner mint. But when I tried the Solo I was pleasantly surprised. She has mixed feelings about it, I am not sure if she is really quite ready to let go of her analogs and vape. I will pick hers up once or twice a week just to feel the mint. I guess there is not too many ways to make a menthol taste different like all the other flavors I enjoy here.

Very tasty with a strong menthol
Trying to quick smoking cigarettes (menthol) so I ordered this Solo from BN as my first ever vape juice. My first time using it, I was surprised at how strong the taste was. It was like snorting a crushed candycane. It tasted good, just strong compared to my usual menthol cigarettes. However, I quickly became used to it and after the first couple of days I barely noticed how strong it was. That was, until I went several days without smoking a menthol cigarette and when I did it tasted weak, horrible, and like a cigarette. That is great, since I am trying to quit. So I have become accustomed to the flavor now and find it very pleasing. Just gave 4/5 because I could see how this could be overpowering for some.

High Quality but I’m not a menthol smoker
This is definitely a high quality menthol, not like most of those other menthols out there which taste like candy mint, this tastes like mint with a heavy plant-base. At first I didn’t like it, but I tried it a second time and realized how good it is. Since I’m not used to menthol on a regular basis, I cant take too much of it, and wish they had made it a little lighter, but I bet the menthol vapers appreciate it.

Great product but not for me
One Note menthol juice is a great product, very tasty and clean but it’s not for me. I cannot vape it for long as it starts to wear on me. So it will be one of those juice’s that will occasionally be used but not long term. I was going to return it since I only used the sample bottle but it’s not really that expensive so I’ll keep it and vape it a few times a year

I would have given Solo 3 stars, but my boyfriend absolutely loves this – I just wished I did (both of us are Marlboro menthol cigarette smokers). The menthol is a little overpowering and I didn’t care for the “medicinal” taste of it. Because of that, I don’t really taste the tobacco. I will say though that normally sub-ohming menthol flavors usually makes me cough and this didn’t – very smooth vape. On my mini vape pen, the flavor is a little bit more tolerable. I wouldn’t get this for myself, but will get more for my boyfriend.

I have purchased dozens and dozens of liquids over the past couple years trying to find a menthol that actually tasted like a menthol cig. They ranged from barely tolerable to downright nasty! Natural mint and smooth tobacco taste. Guaranteed. You may also spot the difference if you are familiar with other menthol base liquid out there. Actually I do not prefer icy and cold type liqiud no matter what. When I was a smoker, only a few times I tried menthol cigarette. That was when I am totally out of stock of my filter cigarette. What can I say, this is absolutely great substitute for menthol cigarette smoker. Solo is my last choice in Black Note line up. Not because it is not nice, but I am no fan of menthol flavor.

Smooth in 3mg version
I’m glad I tried this menthol version. It’s really good. I’ve yet to find the right menthol tobacco to match the Salem Light 100s (menthol) I used to smoke. Solo is smooth, the menthol easy to vape, and I do like it. It still doesn’t come close to the Salem’s, so I bought the Notebook and will add my own mint and menthol, until I find the right one. If the rest of the tobacco flavors are as good as this one, I’m sure I can pick one as a favorite. I wasn’t sure the price of these liquids was going to be worth it, but the flavor is so smooth and really good. It sure was worth trying. Shipping is so fast I got it before I even wondered when it would come. That’s a big plus….fastest shipping ever!

Mild Menthol
I never smoked menthol cigarettes, so this blend is not really for me. However, I have vaped this liquid on 3 or 4 occasions and have enjoyed it. The experience is much different than a menthol cigarettes, which are overpowering and result in an artificial experience. Solo, instead, provides a smooth and minty vape, with a flavorful tobacco core. This will probably never be my everyday juice, but I will vape it again, perhaps during the holiday season after a hot eggnog coffee.

Solo is the perfect replacement for a Newport or a kool. I use it a a replacement when I’m really craving a cig. Perfect balance of minty menthol with the tobacco. It’s a little shocking straight out the bottle on the first vape but it mellows out once your used to the menthol it’s so nice I keep on ordering more. Great Flavor
Just started vaping last week. Found Black Note online i’m glad I found them. Customer service is top notch. The flavor of this is excellent and easily replaced my desire to smoke A mental cigarette which I smoked at least a half a pack a day. I’m anxious to try all the other flavors out. They sent me another 7.5 bottle of solo with my order which was nice but I wish it had been a different flavor to try out.
