I’ve been using Black Note products since July 2019. Cavendish is my favourite but there is a three-way tie for second between Virginia, Burley & Kentucky. I love them all (also liked the now departed Jazz, Pop & Rock from the V-Line).
Another reviewer likened the taste of this e-liquid to the smell of a freshly opened pouch of rolling tobacco. I totally get that. It is like tasting that smell.
Virginia is a little sweet, quite light, and really smooth. There is a nice throat hit and full tobacco flavour on the exhale. There is a subtlety and complexity to all of the Black Note flavours compared to other brands I tried. This took some getting used to but after a while I really began to appreciate these.
Once I had got used to it, I genuinely began to enjoy vaping more than I did smoking. For me it was job done. Successful replacement of a crutch I’d leaned on for 30 years.
If you are just making the switch, I found the choice of device is really important and makes a massive difference to the overall experience.
I didn’t rate this e-liquid (or any) in my first vape pen and had underwhelming results in a few other devices. Then I tried a Geek Vape Aegis Mini (@36W – coil 0.3ohm) and the difference was unbelievable. For me it delivers this 50/50 liquid perfectly (I’m using Nic 12mg). I’m sure others will do likewise but this is what changed the game for me and made quitting smoking not only realistic but dare I say it…easy.
I couldn’t have quit without Black Note and for that I will be eternally grateful.

I think this e-juice is overrated. I’ve tried many tobacco e-juice out there before buying BlackNote out of the fantastic buyer reviews and ratings. Particularly, BlackNote Virginia Tobacco e-juice doesn’t replicate the unique tobacco nuance. I forgot to read the advertisement carefully because the company actually makes the juice as they advertised. “No smell, just taste.” Yes, the juice has absolutely NO smell from the bottle, however, no taste at all but the sweetness on the tip of my tongue like other e-juices. I can only notice a weird and uncomfortable but slightly salty leafy scent in exhalation. I bought a can of flavorless Virginia pipe tobacco to compare and I can tell a significant difference. I wasn’t even sure what kind of leaf they used to extract because this is not Virginia Tobacco nuance. Even if I lie to myself, I can only give this e-juice a matching score of 25% for its taste and nuance. I even get a light headache after 3 or 4 puffs and I’m not a light weighter. Also, the pull was harsh and spicy in the throat. I am a former 8-year smoker and I smoked strong cigarettes like Marlboro Special Select Red & Camel Turkish Royal daily. I’ve been vaping for 6 months on 50mg nicotine salts and I wanted to try BlackNote to help lower my dose. Out of the reviews, I thought the e-juice’s taste and nuance are heavenly delicious that I could eat it if it’s food. Unfortunately, I’m switching back to my NKD 100 American Patriots. This salt is not even close, but at least it is smooth and the taste is much more enjoyable. So far, I think JuuL Virginia Tobacco juice is the best out there. Maybe I’m wrong because they used no chemical and artificial flavorings which result poor scent and taste, but I just cannot adapt to it. Gonna try Cavendish and give BlackNote another try.

I’ve tried the whole Black Note lineup and they’re all superb liquids, even their menthol one is exceptional and that’s saying a lot coming from a non menthol aficionado. Kentucky deserves a special mention, flavours galore, wish I had that when I was struggling with quitting smoking. Virginia though is a thing of beauty, I would eat it if it was edible. I’ve been trying a lot of flavors from a lot of companies at many different prices. But Virginia is the one I keep coming back to.
So I decided I’d try Virginia in some other brands. Looking for big cheap bottles. Let’s see, I got Ted Bacco’s Virginia and got a BIGGGG one from the nicotine wholesaler. All dirt cheap.
I couldn’t even finish the tank on those brands. I mean I got acid reflux even when I was walking. At night I woke up with stomach acid in my mouth even on an empty stomach.
I asked both suppliers to list their ingredients but they did not reply and the bottles don’t list them either. So there is something inside, but I don’t know what.
Anyway, compared to smoking Black Note is cheap and at least you can see whats inside.
Virginia is the fail safe flavor. Especially for smokers who are trying to quit and are new to vaping.

I also know the PG provides a better throat hit at 3 mgs if nicotine. I felt nothing with Virginia and Kentucky. Wished you had the option of 70/30. Very mild, as the description notes. If there were an additional flavor to describe, I would call it hay-like, or like the smell of cut grass (in a positive way.) My recommendation for Virginia is to start with a new coil to prevent a past flavor to override it. For me personally, it is a solid 4/5; I prefer something slightly stronger, but it is definitely, as they say, a suitable all-day vape (you won’t feel like it becomes too much as the day goes on.)

Of the 8 flavors in the Notebook sampler Virginia is my favorite and the only one to receive 5 stars. To me it is the one that comes closest to replicating the taste of a good cigarette, if there is such a thing. The description is spot on. The sweetness is subtle and the tobacco mild and mellow. 10 ml is equal to a tank and a half in my RDTA. I think I will have to order a 30 ml bottle to fully appreciate it. Price is the only issue. This is 6 times more expensive than my current ADV’s full price, which is discounted regularly. They advertise “No Artificial Sweeteners & Diketone Free”. They make no mention of NET and at that price I doubt that it is. If the price is not an issue, I think you will enjoy this.

Seriously though, things have gotten better and I wanted to treat myself to some Black Note Prelude (which is Virginia now). I REALLY can’t believe what I was missing! If you’re an X smoker, or want to be, I HIGHLY recommend Black Note. Even if you try flavors later, nothing satisfies your cigarette cravings like Black Note. I smoked Marlboro Virginia Blend so Black Note Virginia made me a non smoker! I really don’t think anything else would have worked. Black Note is true quality in vaping.

I just heard of black note and I have always vaped tobacco flavors only. I don’t like flavors. I ordered the 6mg. to try and adjust my nicotine down a bit. The flavor is very light and I am vaping out of a tank so not much of a throat hit with this system. I may need to change that. I love love love this liquid! It has amazing flavor!
