Frozen Fruit Monster Strawberry Kiwi Pomegranate Ice Review: Tangy and Cold

Frozen Fruit Monster Strawberry Kiwi Pomegranate Ice is the sharpest finish in the Frozen range, because kiwi and pomegranate both bring acidity and the menthol lands on top of it.
This is an editorial product review. It is based on the maker’s stated flavor description and the live Black Note product record. Nobody at Black Note has vaped this bottle, so you will not find tasting notes or a score below.
Who this is for
You will get on with it if you want the most bracing thing in the range. Tangy fruit and cooling together make this the bottle least likely to fatigue the palate, and the best pick for hot weather or a long session.
Skip it if you want something sweet and easy. The tang is the whole point here, and if you find sour fruits unpleasant this is the wrong bottle. Strawberry Banana Ice is the soft alternative with the same strawberry underneath.
One thing worth knowing: Pomegranate is the note most often lost in a tired coil. If this starts tasting like plain strawberry with a chill, the coil has gone before the liquid has.
What it tastes like
Icy cool strawberry with tangy kiwi and pomegranate. Strawberry carries the sweetness and sits in front, but the character comes from behind it: kiwi is green and sour, pomegranate is dark and astringent, and together they give the blend an edge that the other Frozen fruits do not have.
That edge plus the menthol makes this the most bracing bottle in the line. It finishes drier than Mango Peach Guava and considerably sharper than Banana Ice.
Retailer descriptions settle on tangy as the defining word and place it as the sharpest of the Frozen fruits. Strawberry is consistently described as the lead with kiwi and pomegranate behind it.
We have not tasted this bottle, so treat the description above as a reading of the maker’s own wording rather than our tasting notes.
Formats, strengths and what to pick
The 100mL freebase bottle is mixed at 75VG/25PG. That is a vapor-forward ratio suited to sub-ohm tanks, box mods and coils rated under 1.0 ohm, and it carries the cooling well because a larger vapor volume spreads the chill across the draw rather than concentrating it in the throat.
The 30mL salt nicotine bottle is mixed at 50VG/50PG. The balanced ratio is thinner, so it feeds small pod coils without starving them, and the extra PG makes both the fruit and the menthol read more directly. The same cooling feels sharper in a 50/50 pod than in a 75VG tank.
The more vapor your device makes per puff, the lower the strength you want. If you are between two strengths, go down rather than up: a strength that is slightly too low is a minor annoyance, and one that is too high will put you off the bottle entirely.
If you are moving away from cigarettes and unsure where to start, the vape quiz covers strength and device together in about a minute.
| VG/PG | Strengths | Suits | |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100mL freebase | 75VG/25PG | 3mg, 6mg | Sub-ohm tanks and pod mods |
| 30mL salt nicotine | 50VG/50PG | 24mg, 48mg | Pods and low-wattage devices |
Device fit and settings
Match the format to the hardware. This is the single most common mistake made with a 100mL bottle.
For the 30mL salt version at 50VG/50PG, use a mouth-to-lung pod around 1.0 to 1.2 ohm. The tighter draw keeps the cooling controlled, and the 50/50 mix wicks fast enough that you will not chase dry hits. The Black Note Pod System is our own refillable and is built around 50/50 liquids. The Uwell Caliburn G3 Pro adds adjustable airflow, which is the main lever on how sweet this reads, and the Vaporesso XROS 6 Mini is the steadier choice for all-day carry.
For the 100mL freebase version at 75VG/25PG, go sub-ohm. This blend rewards a restricted direct-lung coil around 0.6 ohm more than a wide-open cloud setup, because big airflow thins the fruit and leaves the menthol standing alone. The Vaporesso Luxe XR Max 2 handles 75VG without a full tank setup, and the Geekvape Aegis Solo 3 is the one to pick if flavor matters more to you than pocket size.
Run this one lower than you would run the sweeter iced fruits. The tang and the cooling are additive, and past the middle of a coil’s range the two together get genuinely harsh rather than just cold. The bottom half is where the fruit stays pleasant.
Airflow matters more on an iced blend than on a dessert. Opening it up makes the cooling feel sharper and more spread out; closing it down concentrates the fruit and warms the draw. If the blend feels too cold, close the airflow before you drop the wattage, because closing it keeps more of the fruit.
Prime a new coil properly by wetting the exposed cotton, filling, then leaving it five to ten minutes before the first pull. At 75VG the liquid moves slowly, and not waiting is the most common way to ruin a coil on day one.
| Starting wattage | Draw | Which bottle | |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1.2 ohm | 8 to 14W | Mouth to lung | 30mL salt nicotine |
| 1.0 ohm | 10 to 16W | Mouth to lung | 30mL salt nicotine |
| 0.8 ohm | 12 to 20W | Loose mouth to lung | Either |
| 0.6 ohm | 15 to 25W | Restricted direct lung | 100mL freebase |
| 0.4 ohm | 20 to 35W | Direct lung | 100mL freebase |
Coil life and care
Iced fruit is generally kinder to coils than a sweetened dessert, because there is no bakery or cream residue to caramelize. It is not free, though. This blend is sweetened, and sweetener is what darkens a coil. Acidic fruit is a little kinder to coils than a sweet one, so this sits at the lighter end for the range. Expect shorter coil life than an unsweetened tobacco liquid and longer than you would get from a custard. This is a general statement about sweetened iced fruit; we have not tested coil life on this bottle.
Two habits specific to cold liquids. Cooling agents leave a faint residue that carries into the next flavor, so rinse a pod before switching to something warm. And avoid chain pulls at high power, which is the fastest way to a dry hit here because the menthol masks the early warning taste that usually tells you to stop.
If coil cost is the thing that bothers you, that is a real argument for an unsweetened blend rather than something to work around. Black Note Special Blend and Special Blend 3.0 are naturally extracted tobacco e-liquids made without added sweeteners.
Alternatives in the range and beyond
Against the uniced Fruit Monster Strawberry Kiwi Pomegranate, the chill here amplifies the tang rather than softening it, so the gap between the two is wider than it is for the other iced and uniced pairs.
Inside the Frozen line, Mixed Berry Ice is the nearest in sharpness but rounder, and Mango Peach Guava Ice is the sweeter tropical alternative if this one is too much.
Fruit Monster Strawberry Kiwi Pomegranate is the uniced original, noticeably sweeter without the chill sharpening it.
Custard Monster Strawberry is the same lead fruit in its softest possible treatment, which makes an interesting contrast to this one.
Verdict
The sharpest bottle in the Frozen range and the best hot-weather pick. Keep the power in the lower half of your coil’s range or the tang and the chill start competing with each other.
Both formats sit on the same page, so you can pick the bottle that matches your device rather than buying twice. Shop Frozen Fruit Monster Strawberry Kiwi Pomegranate Ice at Black Note.
