Frozen Fruit Monster Blue Raspberry Lemon Ice Review: Berry, Citrus and Chill

Frozen Fruit Monster Blue Raspberry Lemon Ice is the only bottle in the Frozen range built on citrus, which changes how the cooling reads against the fruit.
This is an editorial product review. It is based on the maker’s stated flavor description and the live Black Note product record. Nobody at Black Note has vaped this bottle, so you will not find tasting notes or a score below.
Who this is for
You will get on with it if you like sour candy profiles or citrus-forward fruit. The lemon and the cooling together make this the most awake-tasting bottle in the range, and it holds up better than most at higher power.
Skip it if you want realistic fruit. This reads as blue raspberry the sweet shop flavor rather than blue raspberry the berry, and if that sounds artificial to you, it will taste that way too.
One thing worth knowing: Citrus is the fastest note to fade in a bottle that has been open a while. If the lemon has gone quiet after a few weeks, that is the liquid rather than the coil.
What it tastes like
Juicy blueberry, tart raspberry and bright lemon with an icy exhale. The blueberry and raspberry land together as a single blue-candy note rather than as two distinct berries, and the lemon cuts across the top of them. It is the most confectionery of the Frozen flavors and also the most acidic.
Lemon and menthol are a natural pair, so the chill here feels less bolted on than it does on a heavier fruit. The finish is clean and slightly sour.
Retailer copy describes this as bright and tart, with the lemon called out as the distinguishing note against the rest of the Frozen line. Icy rather than lightly chilled is the consistent framing.
We have not tasted this bottle, so treat the description above as a reading of the maker’s own wording rather than our tasting notes.
Formats, strengths and what to pick
The 100mL freebase bottle is mixed at 75VG/25PG. That is a vapor-forward ratio suited to sub-ohm tanks, box mods and coils rated under 1.0 ohm, and it carries the cooling well because a larger vapor volume spreads the chill across the draw rather than concentrating it in the throat.
The 30mL salt nicotine bottle is mixed at 50VG/50PG. The balanced ratio is thinner, so it feeds small pod coils without starving them, and the extra PG makes both the fruit and the menthol read more directly. The same cooling feels sharper in a 50/50 pod than in a 75VG tank.
The more vapor your device makes per puff, the lower the strength you want. If you are between two strengths, go down rather than up: a strength that is slightly too low is a minor annoyance, and one that is too high will put you off the bottle entirely.
If you are moving away from cigarettes and unsure where to start, the vape quiz covers strength and device together in about a minute.
| VG/PG | Strengths | Suits | |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100mL freebase | 75VG/25PG | 3mg, 6mg | Sub-ohm tanks and pod mods |
| 30mL salt nicotine | 50VG/50PG | 24mg, 48mg | Pods and low-wattage devices |
Device fit and settings
Match the format to the hardware. This is the single most common mistake made with a 100mL bottle.
For the 30mL salt version at 50VG/50PG, use a mouth-to-lung pod around 1.0 to 1.2 ohm. The tighter draw keeps the cooling controlled, and the 50/50 mix wicks fast enough that you will not chase dry hits. The Black Note Pod System is our own refillable and is built around 50/50 liquids. The Uwell Caliburn G3 Pro adds adjustable airflow, which is the main lever on how sweet this reads, and the Vaporesso XROS 6 Mini is the steadier choice for all-day carry.
For the 100mL freebase version at 75VG/25PG, go sub-ohm. This blend rewards a restricted direct-lung coil around 0.6 ohm more than a wide-open cloud setup, because big airflow thins the fruit and leaves the menthol standing alone. The Vaporesso Luxe XR Max 2 handles 75VG without a full tank setup, and the Geekvape Aegis Solo 3 is the one to pick if flavor matters more to you than pocket size.
This one tolerates more power than the rest of the Frozen range, because the citrus keeps its shape when heated where softer fruits flatten. If you run a sub-ohm tank at the upper end of its coil range, this is the Frozen bottle that will still taste like something up there.
Airflow matters more on an iced blend than on a dessert. Opening it up makes the cooling feel sharper and more spread out; closing it down concentrates the fruit and warms the draw. If the blend feels too cold, close the airflow before you drop the wattage, because closing it keeps more of the fruit.
Prime a new coil properly by wetting the exposed cotton, filling, then leaving it five to ten minutes before the first pull. At 75VG the liquid moves slowly, and not waiting is the most common way to ruin a coil on day one.
| Starting wattage | Draw | Which bottle | |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1.2 ohm | 8 to 14W | Mouth to lung | 30mL salt nicotine |
| 1.0 ohm | 10 to 16W | Mouth to lung | 30mL salt nicotine |
| 0.8 ohm | 12 to 20W | Loose mouth to lung | Either |
| 0.6 ohm | 15 to 25W | Restricted direct lung | 100mL freebase |
| 0.4 ohm | 20 to 35W | Direct lung | 100mL freebase |
Coil life and care
Iced fruit is generally kinder to coils than a sweetened dessert, because there is no bakery or cream residue to caramelize. It is not free, though. This blend is sweetened, and sweetener is what darkens a coil. Acidic and citrus-forward, so it sits at the lighter end for coil life in this range. Expect shorter coil life than an unsweetened tobacco liquid and longer than you would get from a custard. This is a general statement about sweetened iced fruit; we have not tested coil life on this bottle.
Two habits specific to cold liquids. Cooling agents leave a faint residue that carries into the next flavor, so rinse a pod before switching to something warm. And avoid chain pulls at high power, which is the fastest way to a dry hit here because the menthol masks the early warning taste that usually tells you to stop.
If coil cost is the thing that bothers you, that is a real argument for an unsweetened blend rather than something to work around. Black Note Special Blend and Special Blend 3.0 are naturally extracted tobacco e-liquids made without added sweeteners.
Alternatives in the range and beyond
The uniced version is Fruit Monster Blueberry Raspberry Lemon. Worth knowing that the vendor names the two differently, blue raspberry on the iced bottle and blueberry raspberry on the plain one, though the fruit is the same. Searching for one will not always surface the other.
Inside the Frozen range, Strawberry Kiwi Pomegranate Ice is the other sharp option but tangy rather than sour, and Mixed Berry Ice gives you the berries without the citrus.
Fruit Monster Blueberry Raspberry Lemon is the uniced original, sweeter and rounder without the chill sharpening the lemon.
Custard Monster Butterscotch is about as far from this as the catalogue goes, which is exactly what you want in the second device.
Verdict
The most citrus-forward bottle in the range and the one that survives higher power best. Pick it if you want sour rather than sweet, and skip it if artificial blue raspberry is not your thing.
Both formats sit on the same page, so you can pick the bottle that matches your device rather than buying twice. Shop Frozen Fruit Monster Blue Raspberry Lemon Ice at Black Note.
