Black Note Menthol Tobacco and Special Blend Menthol are confirmed pulegone-free. Pulegone is a naturally occurring compound in some mint varieties that the FDA removed from its approved food additives list in 2018. Black Note sources its menthol from Mentha arvensis and processes it to exclude pulegone. This applies to all menthol formulations including 50VG/50PG, 70VG/30PG, and Salt Nicotine versions of both Menthol Tobacco and Special Blend Menthol.

Black Note Special Blend Menthol is a coil-friendly version of the original Menthol Tobacco. Both use the same menthol extract from peppermint leaves and sun-cured Oriental tobacco base.
