I bought the Notebook, and I have loved every flavor I have tried. Legato is fabulous. I’m not good at describing flavors and undertones and all that. Just a girl trying to get off cigarettes after 35 years. Have tried every good rated e-liquid out there, just to go back to cigarettes. Since I received the Notebook, I’m 4 days without a cigarette and am completely satisfied. My doctor will be so proud (he recommended the e-cig to quit in the first place). I love Black Note. Little Too Cigar Like
Legato has a great tobacco flavor, that is right in the middle between a Black & Mild and a Swisher Sweet. This is definitely a cigar taste so if you’re expecting cigarettes off of this one you’re picking the wrong juice. Bravura and Sonata are perfect juices if you want your juice to taste like a cigarette, you won’t even believe how good they are for that. But Legato has that really nutty cigar taste with a lot of smokiness if that’s what you’re looking for. I love it every once in a while when I want to smoke a cigar, but usually I’m into cigarette taste like Marlboro Red before the Firesafe papers and Bravura and Sonata are the real deal, especially Bravura.

The cigar shop I buy my Black Note from happened to have a 7.5 tester of this, and they let me have it to try out. I have to say, this was my least favorite so far. That being said, I still firmly believe that it does taste like it is supposed to, though it is way too smokey for me personally. As others have mentioned, it has a “BBQ” type flavor to it. So if a nice, lightly sweet and heavily smoked flavor sounds good to you, give this one a try. I am reluctant to give anything from Black Note less than 5 stars because I feel as though they deliver what they advertise. So while for my personal taste it’s about a 4, overall, I have to give it a 5.

I wasn’t sure what to expect after ordering the Legato e-liquid from Black Note. I’m pleasantly surprised at how much I like this product. The best comparison I can make is that it tastes very similar to smoking a hookah (but obviously cleaner). I love the very subtle tobacco flavor. It’s also much less irritating to my throat and lungs than other premium e-liquid brands. Thanks and I’ll be ordering again soon.

If you are brand new to vaping, this is the flavor for you! Such a true tobacco flavor! I’ve been vaping for two and a half years now, so it’s a bit too much for me. But my partner is still new to vaping and this flavor has helped him. It’s a very deep and powerful vape. Great throat hit. If you’re looking for something that can take the place of a cigarette, then this would be a good choice if you smoked a medium strength cigarette. another great all day vape option
Legato reminds me of Prelude but with more body and some really nice white pepper on the back end. Its on my list as an all day vape. But I could see my self becoming too indulgent with it and ploughing through it too fast because it is just that good. For my taste (currently), I am on the Prelude as my all day vape. But I am new to vaping (a smoker of 20 years who quit 4 years ago), so I could see myself graduating to Legato as my ADV in the near future. 5 stars!

Great great e-liquid
I’ve just started vaping 3 weeks ago, trying to quit cigarettes. Has been smoking parliament for a while. I bought decent tank (nautilus) and ego vape pen. Also bought 3 juices from other well established co. All those juices are fruit and caramel/tobacco/vanilla. Was very disappointed with the vaping those, getting sick from over sweetened taste very quickly. Decided to give BlackNote a try and bought Legato last week. WOW. Nothing compared to all that sweet/fruity stuff. It has very mild sweetness on the inhale, great throat hit and great flavor. While not exactly the same as smoking real cigs (vapor just can’t 100 % simulate the smoke), but definitely goes great with morning coffee and vaping throughout the day.My favorite so far. After 1 week of vaping Legato I ordered Codenza to give that juice a try. Will update later.

Nutty and…cereal? Quinoa?
While nutty could describe this blend, I also get a lot of deep cereal notes, roasted and strangely reminiscent of quinoa. The touch of sweetness (just barely sweet) allows for more complexity to the character of this juice. Mixed with Quartet (Latakia)? Delicious. Recently, I have been blending Legato (0mg) with Quartet (3mg) in a 1:1 ratio, and the experience has been quite tasty, the slight touches of sweetness at one extreme and the deep peppery notes at the opposite.

The first one so far to have a strong scent on opening. Mighty fine inhale and exhale, toasty – real good mouth feel on this, mild nuttiness is present and center , a good mustiness – not like a fire cured variety but definitely not “swampy” . Awesome Stuff
I haven’t been vaping long and was on a search for a good tobacco flavored liquid. I tried quite a few other brands and was disappointed so I splurged and spent the extra money for Black Note. Legato is perfect. I really enjoy the true tobacco taste with very complex flavors and just the right amount of actual tobacco sweetness. I vape this all day, everyday. I was so sick of the artificial sickening sweet, syrupy tobacco liquids from other companies. So when I came across Legato I knew I had found the one. Black Note’s customer service is the best I have ever experienced anywhere and shipping is crazy fast (love how I am updated on my order from order to delivery). I was a 20 yr smoker and this is the only stuff that can help take the place of my Winstons. I use a a Topbox mini, Clapton coil at 20 watts (and kick it up to around 22 watts when I need a little extra) and it’s perfect for me on the taste and a good cloud.

The best Tobacco substitute.
There are some who say they can’t taste much difference between the Blacknote flavours, and at first I was among them. But with time I certainly became aware of the differences. I suppose it’s much like people’s preferences for different brands of cigarettes. It’s a personal thing. To me Legato strikes the best balance between rough and smooth that one might seek when deciding on their favourite cigarette. Of course vaping and smoking will never be the same. But Blacknote has been the closest to the real thing that I’ve experienced so far. And it’s no where near as harmful as smoking, especially considering that no artificial flavours are used. Also, vaping offers opportunities that smoking doesn’t, and this leads me to my only criticism of Legato. And that is that it’s a bit acrid, and for that reason I add one drop per mL of ethyl maltose. But of course that’s a personal preference.

Most unique flavor
Legato is the most dry of the 8 flavors in the Notebook, yet provides a unique profile of wood undertones akin to a good Kentucky bourbon. Also, has a faintly bitter aftertaste like dry Cheddar cheese or Chartreuse which is appealing and in harmony with the overall effect. Legato, like the others is very smooth, pure, and well-crafted. I find it is excellent mixed with Prelude to add dimension, complexity, and character. Also goes very well with beer or whiskey paired with a fine Vienna sausage. I rate it a 4 versus the other 7 in the Notebook, but a 5 compared to artificial e-liquids.

I had been a smoker for nearly 25 years, and after switching to e-cigarettes, I’ve been searching for an e-liquid for nearly two years that mimics the feeling of smoking. I’ve wasted hundreds of dollars on horrible liquids that could not come close to what I’ve found in Black Note. I wish this was available back when I first started vaping, because the transition wouldn’t have nearly been as frustrating. Legato so far is my favorite, as I will be trying them all. Black Note is all I vape… for me, there is nothing else. Their recycling program and rewards points system is a purposeful initiative making it an even better value. When I first vaped the Legato, my thoughts went immediately to it’s bold rich flavor with no aftertaste. This is pure Kentucky Tobacco at it’s finest. Favorite So Far
Legato is my favorite from Black Note so far. It is the strongest flavor I have tried, which is a good thing for me. It reminds me of a mellow cigar, which is pretty good for a vape. As with all Black Note flavors, there is no chemical smell (probably because there are no chemicals) or taste or the headache that comes along with chain vaping some artificial flavoring.

This was the first “premium” juice I bought, and it was based solely on the positive reviews of Black Note. I first thought that there was no way I would possibly like anything remotely sweet, and so Legato sounded like it would be my favorite, based on the descriptions.
I think that Legato tastes just like Copenhagen Straight chew. I do not have an “inspired” sense of taste, smell, etc. I like what I like and I don’t get “notes of this” or “hints of that” when eating, drinking, smoking, and now vaping.
I have found that I prefer to mix Legato with other brands’ tobacco flavors. By itself, and all I can think of is Copenhagen. I have ordered Prelude and Sonata to give them a shot, but Legato is not for me.
Black Note obviously makes quality stuff, and their packaging is head and shoulders above anything else I have seen. I wonder if the fancy packaging is worth the extra cost, but I must admit they ship out a cool package.

I have been going thru a few of the flavors one at a time and when I finally got to Legato, I knew that this was the most realistic so far in bringing back the actual feeling of smoking…. I will be trying them all, aside from the menthol flavor, which I have no interest in. This is the first time I have ordered from Black Note. I ordered the Legato. Very fast shipping. Inside with my 30ml 12mg bottle was a small bottle of Sonta as a gift. I have been trying for 5 yrs to find an e-liquid that tasted more like a real cig. I have tried so many flavors out there. So many have a sweet fruity taste or just downright awful. Very Unique and Authentic.
Of all the Black Note flavors the Legato has to be the most unique. Very robust and without a doubt, it’s smoky. The smoke essence is rich and earthy like a good pipe tobacco. Legato has a longer follow through than most in that it lingers a bit on the tongue after exhale (in a good way!). I certainly like it and I believe it will remain in my top line-up. It is a bit rich to be an all day vape but it is certain to be an after dinner choice as well as a compliment to a beer now and again. Highly recommended.

Excellent flavor. Legato is my second favorite out of all eight notes, my favorite being Bravura. Although, Legato becomes my favorite after a few drinks. Probably because it’s a little richer in flavor and slightly harsher. For me, it’s hardest to not smoke a real cigarette when I’m drinking, but Legato has done the trick in that regard.

Did I say wow…The product is great. I stopped smoking 3 months ago and have really been getting burned on not being able to find a real good tobacco flavor. Comparison of Legato, Prelude, Sonata, and Bravura
I have tried Legato, Prelude, Sonata, and Bravura. They are all excellent. I’ve found that Prelude and Sonata are lighter, more delicate in flavor, perfect for during the day when I am busy. Legato and Bravura are bolder and richer. I really enjoy them in the evening. Either one really will pair well with a good single malt scotch! Besides the delicious flavors, the vape has a really pleasant and satisfying mouth feel. I wasn’t even thinking about quitting smoking when I tried Blacknote, but I did instantly because they are a much more enjoyable and satisfying experience than cigarettes.

I have the Notebook and I am on my 4th liquid. I am taking them in order from left to right in the Notebook. I have loved the first three and now I am on Legato. It is very hard to be sure because I like them all so much more than any other juice I have tried, but I believe Legato is the best. Again, very close call and you can’t go wrong with any of the first 4 (Prelude, Sonata, Adagio and now Legato). One other thing besides the great taste and realistic feeling of smoking a real cigarette is the fact that these thin, light liquids absolutely “save” your coils. There truly is a “no gunk” factor going on and this saves a lot of money and pain of awful burnt taste that comes from a gunked up coil. I vape a ton as I was a pretty heavy smoker so I was going through coils sometimes one per day. I have had the same coil for 3 days now and still no burnt taste. You may pay a little more for Black Note juice but if you take into consideration the fact that there are no terrible chemicals going into your lungs and you are at least tripling your coil life you may be saving your lungs and your money. GREAT LIQUID. PERIOD! I will absolutely not vape any other liquid ever. Thank goodness for Black Note. Truly. Thank you.

Pure Quality!
The nice thing about this flavor is its simplicity in taste. No excessive side-notes of extra hints of flavor. Just a nice, simple, smooth tobacco flavor. The closest thing to an analog tobacco flavor that I have yet to taste. Good throat hit and hits the spot. I have tried many many..did I say many? Tobacco eliquids, and none of them taste as authentic as Black Note. I am vaping 12mg on a aspire nautilus mini tank at 3.7 watts. Finished my bottle and my coil is still working great, no gunk.

I’m surprised by how close this tasted to a cigarette except for the sweetness. The throat hit is just right and the 12mg seems to be doing the trick for moderate 5 minutes session just like a cigarette break. The aftertaste is where the fun is with a lingering tobacco flavour. Getting Scientific
I’ve been trying out all the Black Note flavors, having procured a Notebook a few weeks ago. I use e-cigs mainly, and have a separate mini-tank for each. Every couple of days I refill them. They’re all excellent tobacco flavors, but my favorite keeps changing! So I thought I’d get (semi) scientific about it – I laid the bottles on their sides in a row and looked at the bottoms to see how much was gone from each. Legato was the emptiest, so it gets 5 stars!

Love Black Note Eliquids! For me vaping some Legato after a meal is the closest thing to having a Marlboro Light. My next favorites are Bravura, then Prelude, then Sonata. FYI for those who are interested, I’m vaping 12mg in a mouth to lung ecig mod—currently an Aspire Nautilus Mini (1.8 ohm coils). I did order an Innokin Endura T18 hoping there’s just a little more airflow than the Nautilus Mini.

This review is for first time customers. When I first tried legato I didn’t care much for it. I’ve only been vaping 10 months. First “tobacco” flavors I tried were complete failures. Not even close. So I’ve been using non tobacco flavors for 9 months. I’d honestly forgotten how a cigarette tasted. After using the legato several times I found my familiar taste buds! If you haven’t smoked in a while you may have to give yourself a break in time to find out how good this product is. I strongly recommend this flavor and the company. This company is the “chess piece” type of juice company when it comes to tobacco flavors, if you get my hint. Highest quality, top service. Give it time!! Too hard to choose
I feel like I should just buy the notebook 10 times..all their flavors are spectacular. However, this was my favorite tobacco flavor from The Notebook. It has just a bit more bite than the others and in my opinion a more complex flavor. I just noticed a review of Legato saying it is reminiscent of the fresh bagged or canned rolling tobacco one can buy. I would agree with this although I feel like that would be an insult to Legato. The smell and taste you get from the fresh rolling tobacco smoke has a similar essence and bite to Legato although not nearly as graceful.

Interesting Shift
I have been vaping out of a Eleaf TC40 Watt for 4 months and trying to find some higher end, lab certified products. This has proved more daunting than one would expect. Trying to avoid Diacetyl I think is critical. Even the larger juice manufacturers have vague analysis and reporting methodologies. This was radically different with Black Note. These guys have their act together for the more refined consumer. The flavors are obviously Aficionado in nature and I was refreshed as I am a premium cigar smoker, Padron, Davidoff, Arturo Fuente, Etc. Although going from ” Super Walnut Grape Smash” to these products took some getting used to, I believe they (Black Note) and I am on to something. This is going to be the next wave in vaping. Really good job guys! Ordered Cadenza and they threw in a mini legato. I’m half way through the Legato and although it’s very rich, complex, mature, I think I will probably cross over to this line completely. Not only for the science, analysis, purity, but for the craftsmanship, care and thought put into this boutique offering. Great job Black Note!

This might be my favorite one. It’s in the class of lighter ones like Prelude and Bravura. Bravura is creamy and sweet but legato is even sweeter and a little spicy instead of creamy like Bravura.
