Flavor Profile: Smokey & Peppery
Latakia Tobacco, or ‘Quartet’ in Black Note’s lineup, boasts a rich, intense, smoky, and peppery flavor that provides a unique delight for the senses. Our blend undergoes the traditional Syrian Latakia process, starting with sun-curing the tobacco, followed by smoke-curing over controlled fires of fragrant wood and indigenous aromatic herbs. This gives the tobacco leaves a robust, distinctive character.
The unique process of creating Latakia tobacco originated during the Ottoman Empire in Northern Syria. Farmers, finding themselves with a surplus of Oriental tobacco, stored their crop at home, intending to sell it the following year. As they warmed their homes during the harsh winter months with aromatic wood bundles, the stored tobacco naturally absorbed the smoky fumes, acquiring a uniquely rich, smoky flavor and aroma. This tobacco, named after the area of Latakia in Syria, quickly became sought-after for its distinctive character, and farmers began smoke-curing the tobacco directly to ensure a consistent supply. Today, Latakia tobacco, with its rich, heavy taste and “smoky” character, stands as a testament to the inventiveness of these early farmers.

This might be the last time I order from Black Note. I love the company & their juices, but my past 2 orders arrived looking black. My last order was 2 bottles in the White Note line & I loved them, but I had to stop using it since it would end my coil in less than a day. That was going to be my last order, but I got tempted to try out Lakita since it’s new to nic salts. Once again, it arrived too dark & clogs my coils. I’ll probably be tempted again sometime in the future since this is the only place with accurate tobacco flavors, but as of now I’m sick of being disappointed from running through my coils.

It was great. Taste was smoky and good. It was very smooth. Didn’t hurt my throat. Highly recommend it.

I usually go with Black Note’s Burley salt (and have also tried Virginia and Cavendish), but wanted to try something different- Latakia turned out to be an enjoyable flavor that is bold and spicy without being too overpowering, with almost a slight fruity quality to the aftertaste. While, for me, it might be a little too intense for daily use, I recommend it to those who are looking for a truly smoky nic salt (and I find myself warming up to it more over time).

I am a huge fan of Latakia 50/50 and add my own nic for a harder throat hit being a seasoned vaper. I wished I tried these salt nics before buying 2. Just doesn’t taste like the regular version, far from. Maybe I can give them away since I can’t get a refund.

First time trying Latakia. It is a smokey and peppery vape, exactly as black note’s description says it is, but it is not over bearing. The throat hit was surprisingly smooth. It’s aroma was woodsy, like the tobacco leaves were dried under different kinds of wood chips for a period of time. It’s flavor was similar but not as bold, and I didn’t taste any sweetness. For me, I could smoke Latakia all day. It has familiar aroma, slightly similar to a cigarette. All in all, Latakia is very good! Definitely recommending Black Note!

Glad they finally released this flavor as a salt. I use a mix of about 1/4 Menthol with 3/4 Latakia, and it’s pretty perfect. But it’s a great flavor on its own, I just prefer to undercut the smokiness and spiciness with a little cool minty undertone.

Excellent smoky flavor. I mix about 20% of my older, supposedly “tobacco” flavored salt juice from a different company in and it reminds me of the flavor of smoking a pipe. Which I really used to enjoy.
