Description

The Essence of Cavendish Tobacco

Our Cavendish Tobacco is a testament to the art of tobacco crafting. Derived from dark, ripe Virginia tobacco, this blend is both aromatic and naturally sweet. We treat the leaves through a centuries-old process that includes precision priming, oak-barrel curing, and steaming. This meticulous method results in a tobacco of rich, intense flavor and an unmistakable aroma.

Cavendish: A Unique Tobacco Process

Cavendish tobacco is not just a type but a creation born from a specific process applied to Virginia tobacco. This process transforms the tobacco, giving it a brilliant intensity and a rich, deep taste. The dark, ripe leaves of Virginia tobacco are first steam-treated and then cured in oak barrels, a method that enhances the tobacco’s natural sweetness and robust flavor.

Historical Origins of Cavendish

The story of Cavendish tobacco is steeped in history and legend. Several accounts trace its origins back to the 16th century, involving the voyages of Sir Thomas Cavendish in 1585. One popular tale recounts how Sir Thomas, in an attempt to preserve his tobacco supply, infused it with dark rum. He then tightly rolled the leaves, binding them with sail canvas and twine. This unexpected method not only preserved the tobacco but also enhanced its flavor, leading to a sweeter, mellower smoke with an aromatic fragrance. This serendipitous discovery marked the beginning of the double fermentation process used to create Cavendish tobacco.

The Accidental Invention of Cavendish

Another intriguing story suggests that Cavendish tobacco was born out of an accident. It is said that during one of Lord Cavendish’s voyages, barrels of fire-cured Virginia tobacco got wet, resulting in the tobacco turning black after weeks in the hot summer weather. Surprisingly, this mishap led to an enticing aroma. The over-fermentation, caused by the water interacting with the tobacco’s natural sugars, prevented mold formation while enhancing the tobacco’s aroma and color. Lord Cavendish, despite being reimbursed for the damaged tobacco, found that he could sell this uniquely black and aromatic tobacco. Since this accidental discovery, we have replicated the process with various types of tobacco to produce the Cavendish blend known today.

FAQ's

What does Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) taste like and how is Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) different from other Black Note blends?

Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) has an aromatic, naturally sweet tobacco profile built from dark, ripe Virginia leaf that has been steam treated and oak barrel cured. You can expect a smooth, rich flavor with a soft caramel like sweetness that comes from sugars developed in the leaf during the Cavendish process, not from added sweeteners.

Compared with Burley or Kentucky, Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) feels rounder, sweeter and more “pipe like,” with less dryness and smokiness and more emphasis on a deep, mellow sweetness and refined aroma. It is a good fit if you want authentic tobacco that leans naturally sweet and aromatic rather than dark, smoky or harsh.

What makes the Cavendish process used for Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) unique?

Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) is based on a process, not a separate plant variety. Black Note starts with dark, ripe Virginia tobacco, then steam treats the leaves and cures them in oak barrels under pressure.

This increases internal leaf temperature and encourages the development of natural sugars, giving the tobacco its characteristic sweet, rich Cavendish profile. Historically, Cavendish arose from methods like rolling or pressing tobacco with rum or accidentally over fermenting wet Virginia leaf, which produced black, aromatic tobacco with a mellow sweetness.

Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) recreates this double treatment in a controlled way, which is why the result tastes deeper, smoother and sweeter than standard flue cured Virginia liquids.

What nicotine strengths does Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) come in and how do I choose between 20 mg, 30 mg and 50 mg in Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine)?

Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) is available in three strengths that mirror classic cigarette categories. Ultra Lights (Silver label) at 20 mg provide a gentle, smooth hit and are ideal if you were a light smoker or prefer a softer experience. Lights (Gold or White label) at 30 mg offer a balanced throat hit and flavor that matches what many former pack a day smokers expect from a medium strength cigarette. Full Flavors (Red or Black label) at 50 mg deliver a strong, full bodied punch that feels similar to robust red or black label cigarette brands in a compact pod device.

If you are unsure where to start with Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine), 30 mg is usually a safe middle ground and you can move to 20 mg or 50 mg on your next bottle depending on how satisfied you feel.

What devices and coil types work best with Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) and can I use Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) in a sub ohm tank?

Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) is formulated for low wattage, mouth to lung pod systems, not high power sub ohm setups. The product page explains that nicotine salt versions like Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) perform best in ultra low wattage, pod based MTL devices using higher resistance coils of 0.8 ohm or above, with power kept below about 15 watts.

This combination lets the salt formulation deliver a smooth yet intense nicotine hit without overheating the liquid or making the throat hit harsh. Using Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) in high wattage sub ohm tanks is not recommended, because the combination of high nicotine and large vapor volume can be uncomfortably strong, especially at 30 mg and 50 mg. A compact MTL pod like the Vaporesso XROS 4 Mini highlighted on the page is an ideal match for Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine).

What is the VG PG ratio of Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) and how does that affect the way Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) vapes?

Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) uses a balanced 50 VG and 50 PG blend, the same ratio listed for Cavendish in both regular and salt versions by multiple stockists.

The 50 percent PG portion carries the aromatic, naturally sweet Cavendish flavor clearly and provides a defined, cigarette like throat sensation. The 50 percent VG portion adds smoothness and enough vapor body to feel satisfying without making the liquid too thick for small pod coils. In real use, this 50/50 profile means Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) wicks reliably in most MTL pods, produces discreet but dense vapor and keeps the focus on flavor and satisfaction instead of large clouds.

How is Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) made and what ingredients does Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) contain?

Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) starts with dark, ripe Virginia tobacco that is primed, oak barrel cured and steamed, then steeped and cold extracted to create a naturally extracted tobacco concentrate.

This extract is blended into a base of natural tobacco extract, nicotine derived from tobacco leaves that exceeds EP and USP purity standards, USP Kosher certified vegetable glycerin, high grade USP Kosher propylene glycol, purified water and benzoic acid.

The benzoic acid converts the nicotine into a salt form and lowers the pH of Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine), improving nicotine protonation, solubility, flavor stability and shelf life while making higher strengths smoother in the throat.

Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) is crafted without artificial flavors, sweeteners, colors or synthetic nicotine and is formulated to be free from compounds such as diacetyl, acetyl propionyl, ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol, acrolein and acetoin.

Is Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) a good choice if I am switching from traditional cigarettes or pipe tobacco to vaping?

Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) is well suited to adults who enjoyed smoother, slightly sweet cigarette brands or aromatic pipe tobaccos and want a smoke free alternative that still feels mature and tobacco focused. The naturally sweet, aromatic profile and rich depth of Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) echo classic Cavendish pipe blends while still being described in terms of familiar cigarette strength tiers like Ultra Lights, Lights and Full Flavors.

The nicotine salt formulation in Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) allows you to get a satisfying hit in only a few puffs from a compact pod, similar to taking a quick smoke break. While Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) is not a medical cessation product, it is clearly aimed at adult smokers and tobacco fans who want an authentic, naturally sweet tobacco flavor without artificial additives.

How coil friendly is Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) and how much Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) can I run through one pod or coil?

Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) is explicitly labeled as coil friendly on the product page. Thanks to the select purification technology used during extraction, which removes many of the heavier components that typically gunk coils, Black Note notes that you can use up to about 8 mL of Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) on a single coil under typical pod conditions before performance begins to drop off.

Real coil life will still depend on your exact device, coil design, wattage and vaping style. To get the best results from Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine), keep power under roughly 15 watts, use higher resistance MTL coils, avoid chain vaping at maximum output and always fully prime a new pod so the 50/50 liquid is completely absorbed into the wick before your first puff.

How does Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) compare to Cavendish freebase e liquid and to Virginia Tobacco (Salt Nicotine)?

Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) and Cavendish freebase share the same underlying dark ripe Virginia Cavendish extract, so the core flavor is very similar. The main difference is that Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) uses nicotine salt created with benzoic acid, which makes higher strengths like 30 mg and 50 mg smoother and more comfortable in compact pod devices while improving stability over time.

Compared with Virginia Tobacco (Salt Nicotine), which uses flue cured Virginia and leans mellow and mildly sweet, Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) feels richer, deeper and more aromatic because of the steam and oak barrel curing process.

If you want the lightest, brightest Virginia profile, Virginia Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) may be better. If you prefer a more intense, naturally sweet and aromatic Virginia based blend, Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) is usually the right choice.

How should I store Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) and how long will Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) stay fresh?

To keep Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) tasting its best, store the bottle tightly closed, upright and away from heat or direct sunlight, such as in a cool, dark drawer or cabinet. High temperatures and UV exposure can gradually degrade both the natural Cavendish flavor compounds and the nicotine. The formulation uses high purity VG, PG, purified water and nicotine plus benzoic acid, which helps stabilize flavor and nicotine, so an unopened bottle of Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) stored correctly should remain in good condition for many months.

Once opened, Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) will generally vape best over the next several weeks to a few months if you always replace the cap promptly and avoid contaminating the tip. As with any nicotine containing product, Cavendish Tobacco (Salt Nicotine) should always be stored safely out of reach of children and pets, since ingestion or misuse can be harmful.

  1. Juul 3% dupe amazing

    jasparefaw

I have read plenty of reviews while looking for a dupe for the Juul Virginia tobacco. I use the 3% version, which is sweet. A lot of people told me to try the Virginia tobacco and it was fine but it still wasn't the flavor I was looking for. This Cavendish flavor has the sweetness that you get when using the 3% Juul pods. so if you've tried the Virginia tobacco flavor and it's still just off and can't tell why I recommend the Cavendish flavor instead.
  2. Excellent flavor

I have being vaping the regular Cavendish and thought I would try this. It was smooth and liked it. One thing I would do different next time is get 30 MG. The 50 MG was to strong a throat hit. Would recommend.

Received my cavendish liquid today and was eager to try it! This is the first time I tried cavendish. I have to say, cavendish will be an all day vape for me! My first impression hmmm, this is good I continued vaping it, tasting it, and smelling its aroma. I am using a 2 ohm coil, so I have to puff on my tank a few times before inhaling. I smell the virginia leaf but not as potent as Black Note’s Virginia blend. There was also a woodsy aroma too, like the tobacco was dried in a smoker using a specific wood chips. When I inhaled, the two aromas mixed together, it was hard to pin point the more prominent flavor between the leaf and wood, but I am going to lean towards the flavor of the leaf. It was smoother than Black Note’s Virginia blend and it tasted sweeter too. All in all, I love it! I also appreciate how fast it is shipped to me. I ordered cavendish on New Year’s Day. It arrived on the other side of the continent on the 5th! Thank you for the fast shipment and kudos for the usps drivers!
