Delicious Duo 3: Forte and Single Malt Scotch
Forte’s rich, smooth flavor is magnificently mirrored by a full-bodied, single malt scotch.
Rich, smooth, burley tobacco is what makes Forte so sensationally seductive, enough so that it has become one of Black Note’s all-time crowd favorites. And you can enhance the flavor of this beloved blend even further by matching it with a heavy single malt scotch. The two flavors mirror each other, making for a deeply savory and memorable experience.
Blended from burley tobacco grown in the volcanic soil of Italy, it’s no wonder Forte bursts with a robust, full-bodied flair. The tobacco is sun-ripened, shade-cooled, and then air-cured in the rejuvenating Naples climate, resulting a distinct tobacco experience with just a hint of natural sweetness.
Single Malt Scotch Highlights
Made in Scotland from water and malted barley, single malt scotch must be matured in oak casks for a minimum of three years. This gives the flavor plenty of time to ripen and evolve, with only select ingredients allowed into the mix. No other grains except barley are permitted in single malt scotch, and no other additives other than water and caramel coloring.
Why the Two Make a Delicious Duo
In addition to their extensive aging process and focus on natural ingredients, Forte and single malt scotch share other characteristics. Both have a hefty weight, with heavier single malt scotches matching best with the full-bodied Forte.
Both Forte and single malt scotch also have a distinct, rich flavor, and combining two flavors that mirror each other results in an even deeper, richer experience than a single flavor alone. Because the two flavors are so keenly matched, one does not overpower the other, but rather results in a robust and remarkable taste.
